The IT Quality Assurance Manager is a hands-on position that will play a critical part in building a first-class Quality Assurance team. The IT QA Manager will provide technical leadership, expertise and direction in all areas of testing our Lab Information Management Systems (LIMS) to include but not limited to Unit, Integration, Functional, End-to-end, Regression, Acceptance, Performance, Automated, Exploratory and Smoke Testing.

Core Responsibilities

  • This candidate will be responsible for analyzing business, functional, and technical requirements as well as the development and execution of structured test cases to prove fulfillment of requirements and viability of application usage and functionality.

  • The Test Manager will be responsible for managing a team of Software System Test Engineers, both on-site and offshore that drive to deliver the highest quality product through defect prevention throughout the software development lifecycle.

  • Oversee multiple teams/projects simultaneously and manage both resources and tasks to ensure timely and effective project completion according to the project plan

  • Establish baselines and provide weekly status reports to include completed, failed and rescheduled tests.

  • Ability to work after hours.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

  • 2 plus years in Managing/Supervising QA teams including hiring, performance evaluation, coaching, and mentoring required: managed Test teams both onsite and offshore

  • Experience in Unit, Integration, Functional, End-to-end, Regression, Acceptance, Performance, Exploratory and Smoke Testing to include automation of testing where possible

  • Experience in testing emergency application defects in production systems, system patches, maintenance releases, enhancement releases, and implementations of new applications required.

  • Experience with testing database driven web applications required.

Travel:

  • Occasional travel may be required to our remote offices.

Your Opportunity The Quality Assurance Team Leader will be accountable for supporting the project team to ensure conformance with the project work plans produced for the construction phase of the project. The Quality Assurance Team Leader will work closely with the project site team. The Quality Assurance Team Leader will carry out periodic audits on the project, advise project personnel of execution improvements, issue non-conformances and work with the team to maintain compliance with project procedures. Your Key Responsibilities * Conduct activities in accordance with all required corporate QMS requirements, ISO 9001, project specific and customer requirements. * Act as quality representative for the project to assist project teams with implementation of the QMS at the project level. * Assist with maintenance of the QMS by recommending improvements to project work processes, procedures on observed evidence and best practice research. * Develop project specific process flow charts, if necessary, to align project requirements with the corporate QMS. * Review and approve all construction documentation and procedures to the required specifications, contract documents and regulatory codes. This includes, but not limited to, WPS, ITPs specific to the project with enough detail to ensure compliance to all the above, work procedures and process established at the site level to ensure compliance. * Attend routine project meetings to understand emerging issues and proactively resolve them. * Review all controlling documents (i.e. Owner's specifications, CSA, ASME, Federal and Jurisdictional codes and regulations) and ensure the site activities conform. * Facilitating client quality audits. * Resolve non-conformances or client complaints including completing root cause analysis and ensuring the successful implementation of corrective action. * Provide quality updates for the project progress reports. * Provide training to project personnel on QMS fundamentals or based on quality audits/trends. * Continually monitor the fabrication, erection, assembly and testing of mechanical components and their proper documentation. * Audit the completed Quality Control package for each system. * Issue, track and ensure effective actions to all NCRs, CARs and OFIs. * Complete and submit reports on site work and on inspected activities. * Keep records of construction activities and keep the Construction Manager informed of the same. * Coordinate and manage the on-site walkdowns necessary to identify deficiencies in Systems with client and client operations. * Enforce the specified quality control procedures for Construction Contractor handled and stored material. * Assist with the implementation of Quality Management Programs (QMPs) for use on large, complex capital development programs; airport specific experience desirable. * Monitor and evaluate the quality of planning, design and construction activities of design consultants, contractors and vendors to assure the work conforms with the contract documents and industry standards. * Ability to work with contractor's quality management and field staff on their QMP, Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), assist in orientation and on-boarding subs, and perform field quality check and inspection according to Project and Contract Document codes and standards. Ability to work with testing labs, to evaluate reported results, ensuring compliance with specifications, and evaluate performance of field crews according to contract. * Possesses the knowledge to witness oversee demonstration testing, compaction testing, and other type of material, manufacturer, acceptance and final testing, adhering to contract before signing off. This may include travel off site to plants, factories or other locations as the project requires. * Serve as a Point of Contact for administration of the Quality Management Program (QMP) associated with projects in the IAH Terminal Redevelopment Program (ITRP). * Interacts with the Executive Program Manager (EPM), ITRP Program Management Team (PMT) members for appropriate coordination, communication and documentation related to quality across the full range of ITRP project. * Monitors and assures that constructability and maintainability of system elements are incorporated into the projects during all phases of design and construction. Ability to establish and lead external audits of design consultants and contractors to evaluate conformance with the contract documents. * Supervise quality assurance staff assigned to the Project ITRP. Your Capabilities and Credentials * API 1169 Pipeline Construction Inspector Certification required for all pipeline positions, this is not a requirement when working on pumping stations or terminals. * Excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementing skills. * Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information to a variety of audiences. * Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity and innovation. * Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. * Advanced skills in use of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite. * Ability to assist with the internal audits of program management teams to evaluate conformance with and effectiveness of established QMP processes and procedures on a large program. * Ability to establish and lead external audits of design consultants and contractors to evaluate conformance with the contract documents Education and Experience * 10 years combined professional experience in design, construction and/or project management, with five (5) years' experience in construction-related quality control/quality assurance/inspection required. * BS degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering discipline required. Position will work in office and field setting. Visits construction sites and works in outside weather conditions.
