Responsibilities

Great American Insurance Group's Property & Casualty IT Services division is seeking interns or co-ops. The goal of the program is to provide an in depth learning experience. We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn and interested in a future career in technology.

  • Assists with testing to ensure that testing is completed on time and meets all functional requirements, as defined during the requirement definition process.

  • Helps to ensure products, applications and systems are in compliance with established quality standards and meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Self-motivated team player who excels in a collaborative work environment

  • Strong organizational skills, able manage/prioritize work, and meet deadlines

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Information Technology

In this role, you'll assure system software meets quality standards by providing leadership in planning, developing and executing testing deliverables. You will be responsible for ensuring all testing deliverables will be completed for associated projects. What you'll do: * Participates in defining standards for development of manual and automated test scripts, deployment and reuse. * Creates test plans, data, procedures and manual or automated scripts. * Participates in formal reviews of business requirements and design specifications. * Ensures proper test coverage exists based on requirements and design specifications. * Writes and reproduces accurate software problem defects/reports. * Creates systems and business test cases. * Executes manual and/or automated scripts. * Determines overall technical test strategy by proposing solutions and evaluating tools. * Coordinates test schedules, work and resource plans; manages progress of all test activities against plan. * Identifies and manages critical path of testing. * Trains others on testing techniques and automation. * Identifies test issues and reports to Manager, PM and/or business. * Performs risk analysis at project management or release level. * Provides estimates for testing deliverables. * Participates in resource planning for future resource needs. * Perform other duties as assigned. What you'll need: * Advanced software testing background through extended quality assurance experience including documentation, processes, manual testing, automation frameworks, quality assurance tool sets and performance testing * Full project lifecycle experience including analysis, design, coding, system integration, user acceptance testing, problem resolution and planning * Ability to develop or lead development of manual and/or automated test frameworks, standards, training, etc. * Excellent communication, both verbal and written * Ability to work within a team and work independently Education/Experience * Bachelor's degree in IT or related field * 6+ years' experience in software quality assurance About E.W.
