Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
This IT Quality Assurance Analyst Lead position is located in Topeka, at the Eisenhower State Office Building, and is within the Office of Information Technology Services. This position manages all quality assurance (QA), testing and documentation tasks related to software development and is responsible for leading a team of quality assurance professionals in ensuring that software products meet the specified KDOT standards.
The IT Quality Assurance Analyst Lead position involves developing and implementing a comprehensive QA strategy, creating test plans, overseeing test execution, managing defect resolution, and promoting test automation. The SQA Supervisor collaborates with cross-functional teams, analyses testing metrics, and strives for continuous process improvement.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Quality Planning and Strategy tasks include setting quality objectives and goals, maintaining regulatory compliance, conducting thorough risk assessments, fostering quality assurance team collaboration, and creating a comprehensive QA plan that outlines the overall strategy, objectives, and processes.
Team management tasks such as providing team leadership, managing task allocation and workloads, participating in and encouraging team building, performance management, managing professional development and conflict resolution, and encouraging collaboration with other teams.
Test case design and execution tasks such as requirements analysis, test case design, test case specifications, test data generation, test case reviews, test execution, and test automation.
RFP and vendor management duties, including developing RFP, evaluating responses, and leading selection teams, coordinating and overseeing the development of contract programming contracts, and working with the KDOT IT Project Management Office to ensure that problems are resolved and guidelines are established for developing work orders and approving deliverables. This position also manages vendors engaged in providing supplemental QA staff support, identifies and defines work efforts, develops and executes work orders, and approves deliverables.
Strategic planning and other duties, such as leading the agency Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence Steering Committee, providing advice and recommendations regarding the management of KDOT's information technology projects, serving on an IT or other agency committees, and attending conferences, seminars and other presentations on QA themes or topics.

A varied background in information technology is preferred.
Four years of experience in software quality assurance and maintenance.
Experience in leading technical teams with emphasis on communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
