Job Purpose: Responsible for IT Project Initiatives and Business Processes for Campus Services. Facilitates the monitoring, analysis and change management of critical business processes to ensure optimal efficiency and sustainability. Administers the uptake, review, and approval of the annual IT Project Portfolio, and ensures initiatives are executed effectively. The Project and Process Manager supervises and coordinates with project management staff, analysts, and report writers to ensure business processes and project initiatives are aligned with the overall strategy of the division. This role is specific to OIT- Information Technology Group.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manage the IT Project Portfolio Up-take, including the processes for project requests, prioritization, approval, monitoring and reporting.

  • Facilitate and initiate project planning activities associated with prioritized projects, including working with project support staff and teams to define goals, objectives, scope, schedule estimates, resource estimates and cost estimates.

  • Facilitate the monitoring, analysis, documentation and change management of critical business processes to ensure optimal efficiency and sustainability.

  • Facilitate the development and maintenance of specifications and test plans associated with system or application function, development, implementation, and/or modification.

  • Lead a distributed team of Application Support Analysts to ensure critical line of business applications maintain the highest level of effectiveness.

  • Ensure issues are captured, monitored, and resolved. Manage relationships with solution providers to ensure accountability.

  • Advise leadership and stakeholders of the health of critical business processes (operations) and the Annual IT Project Portfolio (initiatives).

  • Develop and disseminate communications including ongoing reports, status presentations, coordination meetings, etc., to communicate project and process health, escalating issues and roadblocks as appropriate.

  • Facilitate the development and maintenance of operational reports and business intelligence dashboards.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Work Experience: Five to seven year of job related experience

  • Certifications: N/A

  • Skills:
    This job requires the ability to lead and coordinate with business/technical/data analysts, IT developers, and project management staff; excellent ability to understand processes from a narrow context (daily tasks and operations) to a wide context (strategy, initiatives, and goals); familiar with the concepts of project management and business process management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred Education: Masters degree

  • Preferred Work Experience: Experience working in higher education

  • Preferred Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), SCRUM, and Business Process Management (BPM)

  • Preferred Skills:
    Experience working with Banner, BlackBoard transact system, Sequoia Point of Sale. The ability to interact effectively with organizational directors and senior level staff to help prioritize technology initiatives.
