Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
This Manager of the IT Project Management Office position is located in Topeka, at the Eisenhower State Office Building, and is within the Office of Information Technology Services. This position is one of three managers and advisors reporting to the Assistant Chief of the KDOT IT Services and is a crucial role in the success of IT projects within the KDOT IT Services Division. Its leadership is essential for achieving organizational goals and delivering high-quality solutions.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Oversee staffing of the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring the team is appropriately resourced with skilled Project Managers (PM) and Business Analysts (BA).
Develop and enhance project management office policies and process to align with organizational objectives and industry PM & BA best practices. Ensure adherence to established processes and tools by all Project Managers and Business Analysts.
Oversee the practices of PM and BA to ensure they are effectively executed, and objectives are met.
Manage a team of Project Managers and Business Analysts, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet required quality standards. Implement effective project management methodologies to drive successful project outcomes.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the PMO, fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
5 years of continuous full-time experience as a Project Manager of IT projects in a manner closely aligned with the Project Management Institute (PMI) principles and ethics.
3 years of experience with staff supervision and strong leadership, conflict management, and negotiation skills.
Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
3 years of experience in a PMO Manager role.
2 years of experience in a Business Analyst role.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Experience with Microsoft Project.
