Job Description

Fugro is the world's leading Geo-data specialist. At Fugro, we are passionate about our purpose to create a safer and more liveable world together. Our strategy is to differentiate ourselves on the market using integrated digital solutions. These highly innovative and often in-house developed geo-data acquisition and analysis solutions are strongly dependent on IT.

The Operational Technology (OT) Services team is part of Fugro's global IT Infrastructure and Security team. At OT Services we provide IT support to facilitate Fugro's vessels and field operations, remote operations and processing of Geo-data collected during those operations. Within OT Services, the Deployment team coordinates and executes full scale deployment of IT infrastructure onboard Fugro's marine vessels operating globally. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic IT Project Engineer to expand our Deployment team in the US.

As an IT Project Engineer, you are responsible for all technical aspects related to the preparation, installation and commissioning of the IT infrastructure and services to a vessel or (offshore) site as per business requirements. You are a flexible, project-driven individual who delivers the functional expertise and technical leadership to provide quality assurance and compliance to Fugro IT standards and standard solutions designs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.

  • Perform site visits to determine IT infrastructure requirements and create the associated reports specifying the required IT infrastructure equipment, licenses and configurations.

  • Prepare and configure the IT infrastructure equipment as per standard design work instructions and perform the integrated system testing prior to shipment.

  • Create the site-specific installation and commissioning plan and perform the onsite installation and commissioning of IT infrastructure equipment as per the plan.

  • Create the required (document) deliverables for handover to support.

Job Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.

  • High school required, a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field is strongly preferred.

  • Proven experience with the configuration and installation of IT infrastructure hardware, networks and systems; experience working in a marine vessel environment is a plus.

  • Relevant IT certifications such as Microsoft Windows Server, VMWare VCTA/VCP, Cisco CCST/CCNA, and ITIL4 are highly beneficial.

  • Affinity with Technical Project Management; proven experience is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel and work on-board vessels and be away at home for shorts periods of time.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written; able to communicate at all levels of the organization.

  • Proactiveness and a problem-solving aptitude; able to plan, organize and take responsibility.
