IT Portfolio management and Agile Intern
PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The IT financial, integration, and data services teams drive value for SAP Concur by designing, developing, and providing key technical capabilities to further SAP Concur's growth. This role is a junior role where you will help shape the portfolio of capabilities driven each quarter by gathering data, analyzing the data, generating actionable insights, and presenting to senior leaders on the health of the portfolio of IT work in progress. You will also take on some aspects of Scrum management, see the software development lifecycle come to life, and get to understand and drive key aspects of the Agile and Scrum methodology. If you like resource allocation, love agile/lean and other supply-chain optimization concepts, we expect you to excel in this role.
Within this internship, you will lead two complete cycles of quarterly portfolio planning, and using your intellect and persistence (and excel skills), will help drive the success of the portfolio of work across 5 teams. This role may also support two agile teams in supporting their scrum work. In the six months of this role, you'll have significant learning opportunities of working in a fascinating IT area!
This position will report to the Sr. Director of Finance, Integration, and Data services.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Responsible for mechanics of the Quarterly driven Portfolio planning process for the IT team focused on financial, integration, and data services
Provide actionable insights to Senior leaders regarding the portfolio based on data analysis
Support the teams using Agile methodology
Build strong relationships with the IT team
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Working towards University degree in related field (Information Technology, Business, Supply chain mgmt preferred)
Interest/Familiar with concepts such as Portfolio and project management, Agile/Scrum, Lean, Six Sigma, the Toyota production system
Intermediate to advanced Excel
Familiar with the SDLC
Results driven and independently motivated
Deals well with ambiguity
Strong analytical skills and conceptual thinking
Ability to multi-task and deliver highest quality work under time constraints and in complex environments
Strong communication skills
Fluent in English
