As the IT Project Coordinator, you will coordinate project responsibilities to ensure the successful implementation of technology solutions in support of XPO objectives. You will also coordinate multiple aspects of the project including scope, schedule, budget, quality, communication, risk management, and issue management. This role is critical in positioning XPO for long-term success.

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Organize and facilitate meetings needed to accomplish project objectives

  • Handle implementation and delivery of project deliverables and systems

  • Identify, manage, and resolve issues and risks

  • Maintain key project documents and processes; provide clear verbal/written communication to Project Managers/Stakeholders

  • Liaison with internal cross-functional teams such as: Finance, Product, Technology, Infrastructure, Legal, Information Security, etc.; partner with vendors and external clients

  • Lead and coordinate team member assignments, schedules, status reporting, and adherence to the project's management methodology in conjunction with the program/project manager

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 2 or more years of dynamically complex project coordination experience working in a PMO environment supporting Project Managers using an established Project Management Methodology; this includes recent college graduates

  • Ability to work under established guidelines and controls including Budget and Requisition guidelines and policies, Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC), Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Infrastructure guidelines

  • Working knowledge of and experience with basic business/accounting principles and transportation management

  • Strong proficiency with Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs such as MS Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Occasional ability to work non-standard business hours based on specific project demands

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 or more years of hands-on experience in presenting and interacting with both IT and business staff; recent enterprise-level project/program experience

  • PMP Certification

  • Familiarity with the most widely-known and emerging tools, technologies, and social applications

  • Able to prioritize regular workload, special tasks, and concurrent projects, allocating time and resources to ensure that work is completed accurately and efficiently within established time frame

  • Ability to communicate business needs to technical people, and to communicate and simplify complex technical information for non-technical audience
