An IT Programmer/Analyst II position is available with the City of Fort Worth IT Solutions Public Safety Applications (CAD) Division. This position will develop, maintain, and supports an array of Fire and Police applications ranging from in-house developed applications (.Net) to cloud-hosted solutions where interfaces and API development and support are required. We are constantly bringing new technology to the City of Fort Worth to streamline business processes, improve government transparency and make services more readily available to our citizens. This opportunity offers challenges in technology; requiring an ability to take business requirements and identify technical solutions, automate customer manual processes, and interface multiple systems together to provide the customers with supporting systems within the City of Fort Worth.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field.
Two (2) years of responsible experience in computer programming.
Valid Driver's License.
Candidate selected for hire must pass a Criminal Background Check for CJIS.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Computer Aided Dispatch software, Records Management Systems, and other public safety software.
Experience in deploying and developing interfaces to integrate systems (APIs, Raptor API, etc.)
Experience with SSRS and SSIS development and support.
Three (3) years of experience building .NET Web Applications using C#, HTML5, VB.NET, jQuery, and other programming languages.
Experience with supporting off-the-shelf applications/systems.
The IT Programmer/Analyst II job responsibilities include:
Providing excellent customer service to internal public safety departments.
Participate in the support of 3rd party applications used throughout the City of Fort Worth.
Develop application interface programs and add-ons to support the business departments.
Troubleshoot issues with existing applications and interfaces.
Document in-house developed applications and tools.
Flexible to work on multiple assignments at once.
Assist with the evaluation of software options, including the potential of purchased products.

Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Background Check
Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
