The Center of Excellence is searching for a Release Program Manager who is looking for an opportunity to manage complex and high value software releases across the product suite and team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and coordinate the Planning, Execution and Release activities for our Navisphere platform. Release management oversees the process by which teams develop software and then release to production. The release program manager is the critical liaison between application development and production for release management control. You will have direct exposure to executive leadership and the benefit of working with a great team of people who are equally committed to delivering innovative solutions for our customers.

The successful candidate is a person with extensive large scale software project management experience and cross-group collaborations skills, with the ability to schedule and prioritize work against multiple deadlines and the ability to direct teams to success. The ability to thrive in an ambiguous and dynamic environment is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, audit, monitor and enforce application lifecycle management processes and policies.

  • Lead teams in release activities and functions as a subject matter expert in release management; continually work towards making improvements to the release process.

  • Oversee the production environment, ensuring consistency in policies and operational procedures, release integration testing and production validation.

  • Operate at an advisory level; consistently interacting with engineering and line-of-business management.

  • Innovate the Release Management Dashboard and other in-house tooling to provide transparency across the organization.

  • Design and lead cross-technology projects to optimize and automate release management tasks; including support for CI/CD initiatives.

  • Drive applicable release-related meetings, milestone reviews, and support CI/CD efforts.

  • Lead and coordinate all go-live activities including scheduling for on-time delivery, execution of the release plan, alignment across key partners, and post-release monitoring.

  • Maintain a release repository and manage key information, such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.

  • Collaborate with multiple teams and build automated solutions.

  • Work closely with other Release Managers to align release activities across the platform and app suite.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Program/Release Management experience in software development

  • Experience managing on-prem, cloud and web-application projects

  • Experience using release management tools, such as Azure DevOps, VSTS, TFS, Jira, GitLab, , GIT, GitHub, Jenkins

  • Proven track record of shipping secure, high-quality software

  • Demonstrated experience shipping products on a biweekly cycle

  • Demonstrated experience leveraging data analysis to solve complex problems and influence product decisions

  • Familiarity with Microsoft security and compliance processes

  • Knowledge of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership abilities and critical thinking skills

  • Experience managing multiple engineering teams or doing release management for teams of 100 or more.

  • Proven ability to think and work strategically, while driving rapid, on-time execution

  • Ability to quickly understand complex issues and decide best course of action

  • Excellent communication skills, including presentation skills

  • Exceptional ability to drive key initiatives to successful outcomes

  • Outstanding analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and ability to design and track success metrics

  • Exemplary internal and external collaboration and negotiation skills

  • 2+ years of overall software product development experience

  • Experience building and improving CI/CD pipelines
