The Enterprise Architecture (EA) Program Manager is responsible for organizing, developing, and advocating for the processes, tools, and methodologies to drive consistency and excellence across the global Enterprise Architecture community and delivery models. These activities may include leading process and service definitions for four key architecture practices: Business, Information, Technical and Security, and operating them as a service owner with support staff resource(s) across the community of architects inside and outside of the enterprise architecture organization. This leader will develop work estimates, high level proposals, detailed work plans, operating plans, resource plans, and schedules. The Program Manager will recommend and take action to measure and guide the department's delivery, publishing and communicating departmental results, escalating issues, while managing to scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
The EA Program Manager is responsible for designing and overseeing EA services and activities to ensure alignment, achieve the desired time-based service levels / objectives, and measure progress to overall program strategy.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
Partners with the global EA team in establishing and documenting EA services, objectives, and timelines and regularly measuring progress against the defined SLAs - taking accountability for operating the process with supporting resources across the EA department
Partners with the Business Architecture practice within EA to
o Supporting the pipeline to maintain business capabilities with regular validations, maturity assessments and roadmaps with processes & SLAs
o Promote and leverage business capability models by identifying the impacts by IT work efforts in terms of scoped business capabilities
o Orchestrating the work to build out information domains and facility their the cross-business usage
o Aligning efforts to deliver on the Digital Information Core
o Coordinating a regular application portfolio management (APM) analysis, identifying opportunities for enterprise leverage and harmonization while ensuring the application inventory is aligned with its supported business capabilities, technology roadmaps and IT domain portfolio.
o Structuring the effort to create, maintain and leverage the appropriate technology roadmaps and patterns
Backs the Security Architecture practice within EA by building connectivity across practices to ensure coordination across EA, Global Privacy and Security teams
Drives and facilitates harmonized EA delivery across the 4 architecture practices, ultimately creating a managed roadmap which facilitates the delivery of transitional and future state architectures
Partners with the EPMO, IT Governance, Privacy, Security, Sourcing, and Legal organizations to align key projects to architecture and IT governance processes
o Leveraging the global IT project pipeline to build and mature EA engagement points, process integrations and deliverables integrated with gates, controls and supporting tooling - championing the applicable change and project management across applicable stakeholders
o Measures and reports on key EPMO and IT Governance activities to ensure the appropriate architecture governance processes are followed.
Develops, recommends and champions process and/or technology improvement across EA, including overall project management (budget, resources, objectives) and communications that will build capabilities in drive improved efficiency and effectiveness.
Drives the process to develop quarterly departmental communications with presentations and newsletters
Influences and communicates effectively with all levels of the organization on topics related to architecture and governance.
Mentors other Medtronic resources to become more knowledgeable and fluent around EA to enable build organizational subject matter expertise over time.

Previous Medtronic experience
3+ years of experience and strong knowledge of project, program or departmental management concepts
3+ years of experience in business relationship management and/or managing relationships across a complex, global matrixed environment
2+ years adjacent experience with architecture concepts within an Enterprise environment High degree of 'learning agility' with the ability to readily consume and apply new information and concepts with developed analytical problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills, including with employees, clients, senior management and vendors
Strong business acumen, decision making, and influence skills across all levels of an organization
Experience in business capability and process modeling
Excellent leadership and teamwork skills
Strong results orientation (driving to deadlines, financial targets, project goals, etc.)
Ability to work collaboratively and partner with employees, leaders, clients, and vendors
Demonstrated ability to work in a global, virtual organization
Effective meeting facilitation and presentation skills, including the ability to translate technical information into business terms
Work experience in the Medical Device Industry, or other regulated industry
Ability to aid in the development of business, architecture, and technical resources
Able to work independently as well as cooperatively
Certifications in project management frameworks such as PMP
