Job Description:

Identifies needs, leads, and provides oversight for development of IT infrastructure projects. Coordinates and advises on projects related to multimedia technologies development, including strategies for their implementation across a range of programs, initiatives and platforms.

Ensures compliance with university, college and/or departmental security and configuration policies. Participates in and provides information for the strategic planning process at the department level. Recommend upgrades and or modifications to resolve wired and wireless requirements of EREC population.

Responsible for network and computer maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, including VOIP communication hardware. Serves as liaison among EREC, UF/IFAS IT personnel, UF Network Service, and UF Software Services.

Maintain and update user accounts and file rights management for EREC employee access to the EREC file server drives, network printers, fax machine and/or scanners; create and/or maintain EREC e-mail lists; monitor use of graduate student, visiting scientist, intern computers. Training and Applying Cloud Services (Onedrive & Microsoft Teams).

Maintain and set up audio visual equipment for events, conferences, and meetings; assist faculty with recording.

Provide and install all necessary software (new or upgrades) so that all faculty and staff computers utilize compatible versions of software and operating systems. Maintain list of software in use and all licenses renewed or purchased as required.

Responsible for all computer and/or mobile device purchases to ensure that these devices are compliant with university rules and regulations related to security. A list of all mobile devices must be maintained and monitored for compliance with the University's mobile devices security policy. Technical Assistant with Security Systems.

Note: Responsibilities require driving between EREC work sites in order to support the Center's faculty, staff and student needs.

Expected Salary:

$46,000 - $48,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with programming and knowledge of at least one programming language.

Knowledge of University regulations and policies related to computer security.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to interact well with faculty and staff and provide timely responses or follow-up to requests.

Motivation to assist and provide support as needed and a proactive approach to the job is desirable.
