JOB TITLE: IT Operations System Administrator - CONTRACT

DEPARTMENT: Information Systems

JOB SUMMARY

Analyze user computing requirements to implement hardware and software solutions and provide on-going lifecycle maintenance. Design, create, document and implement automation solutions using enterprise class automation systems (e.g. SCCM, AV, VSphere, Citrix) to meet user requirements, security standards and best practices. Diagnose and independently resolve on-site or remote user computing systems incidents and underlying problems including high complexity, multi-location impacting incident management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • 1.Design, create, document, and implement highly virtualized global environments through the use of VmWare, VSphere and Citrix environments, as well as associated replication technologies
  • 2.Consult with users to identify and analyze automation requirements. Design and implement automation solutions
  • 3.Configure and implement global active directory services and related components to support identity management, system access, customer data access and reporting
  • 4.Research, diagnose and independently resolve on-site and remote user impacting incidents and underlying problems including high complexity and multi-location impacting incident management
  • 5.Complete incident trend analysis and manage resulting problems through resolution
  • 6.Frequent interaction and partnering with the other technology verticals regarding incident/problem resolution, project planning and documentation to ensure efficient operation of the global end user computing environment
  • 7.Analyze and fulfill on-site and report user computing environment move, add, and change requests
  • 8.Author technical documents and knowledge including system functionality, technical workflow, procedures, user guides for both end users and IT teams that comply with all regulatory requirements
  • 9.Proactive daily support and configuration of server/application backup and restore where required
  • 10.Prepare tests and applications for monitoring end user computing environment performance. Provide statistics, reports, analysis, recommendations and implementation of changes to maintain peak efficiency
  • 11.Contribute to long-term strategy and capacity analysis planning for meeting future end user computing hardware, software and related equipment needs for management review and approval
  • 12.Conduct research on end user computing IT infrastructure and software. Evaluate, test and recommend products for purchase
  • 13.Maintain and build professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and training events, by subscribing to and reading trade periodicals and by reading applicable technical manuals, books and guides
  • 14.Participate in the out of hours support call rotation
  • 15.Performs other related duties as assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Advanced knowledge of end user computing environments a must

  • Excellent technical knowledge of PC desktop hardware and software including MS Windows XP, Windows 7, MS Office suites and related products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, Power Point, Project, etc), web browsers, and utility applications such as anti-virus, file management, desktop deployment, backup software and mobile devices

  • Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards

  • Strong systems analysis abilities including working directly with users

  • High quality incident and problem diagnosis and resolution skills

  • Strong customer service skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • General office environment

  • SittIng for extended periods of time

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components

  • Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals

  • Some after-hours work required

EXPERIENCE

  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience in an IT/IS support role.

EDUCATION

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer information systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Certifications in A , Network , MCDST, MS preferred.

About the Role As the Content Management System Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the daily operational performance of the content management system (CMS) and the overall relationship between the CMS vendor and Workday. You will serve as the system expert to troubleshoot issues; provide appropriate CMS training for the organization; develop reports and analyze CMS data; and manage all system upgrades, enhancements, and customizations to maintain and enhance the overall user experience. You will work closely with those who interact with the system to provide technical expertise and process improvement support to support consistent use of the CMS and improved productivity. You must have a passion for tools and be a champion for content transformation. Major responsibilities include: * Maintaining administrative governance over the organization's CMS, including identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving technical and user issues. * Managing the governance of content lifecycle management, including archiving outdated content. * Developing and documenting processes and policies as needed to establish consistent use of the CMS. * Preparing reports that are concise, intuitive, and actionable for end users and managers, as well as analyzing CMS usage data, including monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness. * Lead the organization of Education content libraries through the creation and maintenance of metadata and taxonomies to meet current and future customer and business needs. Partner with cross-functional leads to drive alignment and ensure consistency across teams. * Providing support to the Workday Education organization, including providing training on the system, processes, and policies to new CMS users. * Providing support and/or leadership to assigned projects, such as ensuring content development processes are effective and maximize shared and reusable resources. * Actively participating in collaborative meetings with teams and other key stakeholders to support the day-to-day operational requirements. * Managing all aspects of the CMS vendor relationship, including communication, to ensure system accessibility and technical standards. * Engaging and collaborating with IT to oversee the installation and successful testing of all system updates, upgrades, integrated tools, and other software integrated within the CMS. * Recommending future improvements to the CMS including content management features, workflow, integrations, and user experience. About You You are a confident CMS or tools specialist with excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of what it takes to achieve administrative governance over an organization's CMS or similar tool. You are able to work independently; juggle multiple issues, tasks, and responsibilities at a time; and enjoy working within a team environment. You are able to troubleshoot technical issues, communicate those issues clearly and succinctly to the CMS vendor, and translate the outcome to non-technical audiences.
