How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The IT Operations Supervisor is responsible for the design, operations, monitoring and growth of IT assets across all US and APAC sites within Air Liquide Advanced Materials. This includes server infrastructure, storage, networking, and backup across both business network and industrial network systems. In addition, the Operations Supervisor is responsible for management of the IT support infrastructure, with a focus on providing Tier 2/Tier 3 support for all ALAM users across US and APAC sites.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Scalable network design, planning, and implementation compliant with corporate standards

  • Site reliability design, engineering, and ongoing maintenance

  • Backup infrastructure management and design

  • Industrial IT security management

  • Industrial IT infrastructure management

  • Firewall management, support, and design to support internal applications and growth

  • Server management (Windows Server 2022, 2019, 2016) to support internal application development team

  • Escalated support desk resources for high priority issues impacting business

  • After-hours escalation contact for any IT issue across all sites

  • Management of IT operations team responsible for server management, network management, industrial network hardware, and escalated user support.

  • Design, implement and scale IT infrastructure that supports business needs

  • Collaborate with corporate IT groups around the globe to deliver the best possible service to internal and external customers

  • Work closely with business stakeholders in designing solution and estimating effort for new capital initiatives from an IT standpoint

  • Capital project/budget planning & execution

  • Document critical performance metrics to ensure optimal performance of all ALAM assets

  • Lead team with a wide array of responsibilities across the globe, while performing within budget and on time.

  • Successfully complete all assigned training

Technical Competencies:

  • Windows Server 2022, 2019, 2016

  • Active Directory in a multi-domain and multi-site environment

  • Google G Suite

  • VMware ESXi, vSphere

  • Veeam Backup & Replication

  • SQL/Database design & management expertise

  • Linux (ESXi, Ubuntu Server, RHEL)

  • Dell PowerEdge Servers, EMC SAN/Data Domain hardware

  • Experience with a wide variety of networking and security/firewall vendor equipment, ranging from Cisco, Aruba, Sonicwall, Dell, Palo Alto, etc.

  • Thorough understanding of networks including TCP/IP data flows and firewall ACL's

  • LAN networking, VLAN management, Ethernet switches and wiring

  • Powershell/Bash scripting

  • IT Inventory management, purchasing, and maintaining vendor relationships

  • Disaster recovery and continuity planning

  • Vulnerability assessment and remediation, security awareness

  • Network architecture planning in hazardous environments (Class I Div II, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or Information Technology

  • 10+ years experience in a Windows system administration role

  • Meets key technical competencies

  • Strong working knowledge of networking technologies and platforms

  • Excellent project management, organizational, record-keeping, and documentation skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills

  • Effective working with teams to accomplish shared goals

  • Communicates effectively with colleagues, customers, and management

  • Able to manage several business critical projects simultaneously while maintaining day to day operations

  • Effective at diagnosing and solving technical problems and coordinating service provider support when necessary

  • Understands the IT support environment and requirement to adjust schedule when necessary to perform upgrades, maintenance, and other tasks with least disruption to the business

  • Ability to create and deliver presentations or training

  • Able to travel when necessary to support other sites

  • Able to provide off hours support when required
