IT Network Engineer
This position is a team member within the Technology Management team, working closely with all IT verticals to manage, maintain, deploy and support network and security infrastructures. Candidate must be familiar with the following technologies: Cisco routing/switching, Checkpoint Firewall, F5 Load balancer, Nagios and Splunk. Perl/PHP and Linux knowledge is a plus. The individual will be required to perform after hours support and must be able to travel at 5-10%

Must be a self-starter demonstrating the willingness to address / resolve ambiguity and conflict within complex business change projects.

Shell/Perl scripting experience is a plus

Configure ship and deploy cisco routers.

Monitor existing systems for alerts and respond appropriately to events and drive problems to resolution.

Maintain high level of security awareness and keeping up with security news and activities

Thorough understanding of web protocols (http/https)

Working knowledge of web security.

Candidate must be able to travel for site implementations up to a week at a time.

Configure, deploy and document new infrastructure for new facilities, applying rigorous standardized configurations and procedures.

Adhere and champion infrastructure standards

Acknowledge and resolve user and system-generated production issues (Remedy Incidents) for assigned applications within established SLOs

Diagnose, identify root cause, and resolve the most unique and complex network and security (level 2) problems

Maintain documentation for all operational / support processes for the systems supported by the Network and Security team; automate repetitive processes where appropriate

Guide successful completion of network security for major programs and may function in a project leadership role

Stay current with new technologies and techniques as appropriate

EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field or equivalent experience.

CCNA technical certification is highly desired; candidates with commensurate experience will be considered
3+ years hands-on experience with a broad range of enterprise-class technology solutions.

Must be able to work well in a team environment and manage large project load.

Scripting skills

Must be thorough and detail oriented.

Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

Self-directing individual demonstrating teamwork, organization skills and well-structured working approach given multiple priorities.

Experience working with cross-functional teams

This is a senior network administrator position with TRACC within Aon IT. TRACC is a global organization responsible for availability and operations of core IT infrastructure and application stack. This is a multi-disciplinary organization consisting of all core technologies at Aon. You will deliver operational tasks and support current network operations for Aon IT globally, this includes voice and video. You must have knowledge of Cisco devices, VMWare-NSX, and F5 load balancers. Experience within a NOC is preferred. Your impact as a Network Engineer Job Responsibilities: * Experience and specialist skills in the configuration and maintenance of Cisco voice communications infrastructure, including the ability to support a variety of technologies. * Experience with Cisco IPT Hardware/Software, Call Billing Hardware/Software and Cisco Contact Center * Providing escalated (3rd level) technical support, troubleshooting and fault rectification of high level technical issues related to networking equipment and services. * Operational knowledge of voice collaboration systems and software covering office telephony and contact center functionalities. * Implementing and maintaining corporate voice communications services majorly Cisco IP Telephony, components and associated infrastructure with a focus on maximum availability and performance to customers. * Conducting acceptance tests and commissioning communications systems and equipment. * Providing guidelines for training in the use and maintenance of voice equipment, systems and facilities. * Testing, implementing, monitoring and tuning voice software/hardware to ensure optimum systems performance and highlighting potential issues. * Analyzing voice traffic data and providing recommendations on performance improvements to voice/network infrastructures as appropriate. * Excellent troubleshooting/problem solving skills to resolution. * Ability to drive restoration calls independently * Maintaining technical documentation, reports and records regarding infrastructure solutions. * Knowledge of industry standards and government regulations relevant to voice communications / networking. * An understanding of emerging technologies in the communications sphere and their potential commercial application. * Acting as an interface between the organization and suppliers/carriers/vendors regarding high level technical issues and carrier billing. * Provides information to others both internal and external to the organization. * Able to work independently as well as part of a team on multiple overlapping issues. * Self-starter; ability to begin working with minimal coaching. * Excellent written and oral communication skills coupled with a customer service orientation. * Good analytical skills and be able to correlate the issues * Promotes process improvement * Good decision making * Attention to Detail You Bring Knowledge and Expertise Requirements: * 6+ years of experience supporting complex routing and switching solutions within large corporate environments. * CNP R&S or JNCIP-ENT or equivalent technical certification * 3 years + building cisco networks using cisco routers and switches * 1 year + supporting and building firewall solutions; any vendor * 1 years + working with Juniper JUNOS * Understanding of public facing web hosting environments * Understanding of extranet connectivity * Experience troubleshooting in high security environments which use Firewalls, IPS, Proxies, load balancers, etc. * Experience troubleshooting high capacity Campuses * Experience troubleshooting data center routing/switching * The ability to work 11:00 am – 8:00 pm CST and rotational weekend and holidays.
