Position Purpose

The Business Analyst (BA) acts on own initiative or in coordination with a Business Relationship Manager (BRM) as the connection between the business units and the IS department to provide the most effective soltuions for information and business process needs that align with the overall corporate strategies. This includes establishing business objectives and system alignment, maintaining strategies and providing roadmaps for each business process and capability.

Essential Duties

  • Conducts research to determine if solutions to business requirements currently exist within or outside the business unit, and if not, whether new solutions are feasible. Includes impact analysis of proposed solutions across the business.

  • Assists with or facilitates requirements definition with business partners to drive to consensus for a desired future state.

  • Leads or participates in the translation and documentation of business requirements and systems solutions into functional and/or technical requirements to share a vision of project success with an internal or external solution provider.

  • Assists BRM's in project management or assumes role as project leader as needed.

  • Participates in or leads system and end-user unit acceptance testing.

  • Identifies, troubleshoots and provides IS related issue resolutions in respective business units and associated information systems.

Non-Essential Duties

  • Participates in the system configuration of respective systems.

  • Provides second level operational support for the Support Desk team.

  • Understands system interdepencies and collaborates with project teams accordingly.

  • Responsible for maintaining documentation of developed systems and proposed projects when applicable.

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology or equivalent professional experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years project exposure and information systems related experience with specialization in one or more of these areas: Wine production, Plant Operations & Process Manufacturing.

  • Experience in a winery or other consumer packaged goods environment is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following: SCADA, Ignition software, PLC's, Maintenance Management Software (CMMS)

  • Leadership, communication, analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.

  • Ability to assess and document benefits to be derived from information solutions.

  • System application knowledge to support the respective business units.

Certificates and Licenses

  • PMP or CAPM certification is a plus.

Functional Responsibility * Understands, communicates, and shares Company vision throughout division/organization and provides cross-functional perspective, direction, and support * Provides leadership and personal support; leads by example * Drives Company focus, manages culture, encourages strong work ethic, and fosters an environment of trust and respect * Communicates and supports Company policies and decisions in a positive manner * Handles employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential manner * Provides employees with a safe, comfortable, and rewarding work environment * Provides input and assists with the monitoring of the department budget Essential Duties * Establishes and sustains relationships with the Winegrowing and Cellar business units to gain and maintain technical and business strategy alignment. * Gathers requirements from the business partners to be delivered on development projects and enhancements for the information systems that manage and track Delicato's bulk wine processing.Examples of the activities that are included in the system are: * Harvest scheduling and grape receipts. * Bulk wine inventory transactions such as blending, ingredient additions, receipt of bulk wine purchases, shipments of bulk wine and quality control. * Barrel operations. * Vineyard management. * Government regulatory compliance. * Manages IS projects that stem from the requirements gathering. * Assists in effective data governance practices for represented business unit interests. Non-Essential Duties * Furthers professional capabilities via publications, industry seminars and networking with other in the field. * Presents to senior leadership as appropriate * Provides second level operational support for Technical Services team. * Serves as liaison for vendors and consultants when their assistance is required. * Contributes to technical strategies to maintain efficient and current solutions architecture. * Identifies, troubleshoots and provides conflict and issue resolutions in respective business units and associated information systems. * Supports business driven non-project based department and corporate initiatives.
