Job Responsibilities
The South Carolina Office of the Comptroller General is seeking an IT Manager in our Administration Division responsible for all information technology activities of the office.
Job Duties:
Manages all information technology activities for the Comptroller General's Office (CGO) to ensure all agency and statewide information technology requirements are met. Develops information technology visions and strategies that support the CGO's strategic goals and objectives.
Manages the development, implementation, and maintenance of IT applications that support the daily operations of the agency including the statewide accounting, statewide financial reporting, statewide payroll, statewide accounts payable, and internal administrative systems. Consults with executive leadership to develop and maintain effective business systems support solutions.
Manages the developments and implementation of the agency's information technology and security plans to include the deployment of new information technology equipment, policies and procedures in compliance with state's IT strategic plan and the needs of each division in the agency.
Serves as the primary point of contact for the CGO with the Office of Technology and Information Services. Coordinates all shared services activities related to hardware, software, and desktop support for the CGO ensuring all agency and employee information technology needs are resolved timely and effectively.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, information technology, mathematics, statistics, management information science or a related field and experience in telecommunications, data processing and/or information technology. Relevant experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of computer system analysis, design, testing, debugging, and maintenance, techniques and practices.
