Position Summary

Kemper is seeking an IT Manager to be responsible for providing leadership and coaching in coordinating both business and IT resources, budgets, strategies and projects with customers, vendors, and other internal areas. This manager focuses on developing the strategy, structuring, and managing the delivery of the Control-M, OpenText Microfocus Enterprise Server, and Mainframe systems. Overall responsibility for managing these platforms across all lines of business and building the support organization for maintenance of the platforms. Manages a team to support the Control-M, OpenText Microfocus Enterprise Server, and Mainframe systems.

Position Responsibilities

• Manages IT projects and production support work streams for Control-M, and OpenText Microfocus Enterprise Server. Develops strategy as it relates to the organization's IT infrastructure.

• Manages the engagement of Mainframe systems.

• Partners with IT leaders to provide solutions and mitigate risks.

• Engages with application vendors and service providers on a regular basis as part of projects and resourcing needs.

• Manages and coaches a team of full-time employees and contractors to execute projects and support.

• Consults senior-level stakeholders across the entire organization to identify business and technology needs and to optimize the use of information technology.

• Ensures smooth delivery and operation of IT services by monitoring systems performance.

• Creates processes and standards for selection, implementation, and support of systems.

Position Qualifications

• Education equivalent to a college degree in computer science or related field or equivalent in related work experience

• 5 years of experience in an IT leadership role

• Experience leading and supporting Systems delivery organizations.

• Experience managing the implementation of Control-M and OpenText Microfocus Enterprise Server

• Demonstrated experience and relevant expertise in the configuration and deployment of Control-M and OpenText Microfocus Enterprise Server

• Experience in Mainframe infrastructure

• Demonstrated leadership qualities communicating and reporting at the business and IT executive level.

• Ability to run and ensure a successful project.

• Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) effectively with stakeholders and senior business leadership of departments and customers participating in this project.

• Ability to organize and work effectively with project teams made up of internal staff and/or external parties (agents, vendors, etc.)

• Demonstrated experience with vendor management and contract structuring.

• Proficiency in using ServiceNow, JIRA and Confluence

• Ability to build consensus among business and technology.

• Ability to travel as needed.

• This is a hybrid role, working in the office as needed.
