IT Manager

Job Description Job Description Global Manufacturer serving the industrial and energy sectors is interviewing for a I.T Manager. This is an onsite position in the Midtown area of Houston Tx This person must have led I.T Department’s operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources. · Participate in the conversion and implementation of new companywide ERP system.

Acquisition & Deployment · Benchmark, analyze report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems. · Manage financial aspects of the IT Department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review. · Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives. · Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision. · Develop requests for proposals (RFP) documents. · Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements. Required Skills and Qualifications · Ten or more years of experience in IT management · Extensive hands-on experience with the following technologies: · Microsoft server operating systems · MS 365 and Intune · Wireless networks · Enterprise backup and recovery technologies and procedures · Network security (firewalls, end-point security) · LAN and WAN topologies (IP subnets, routers, switches, DHCP) · Cloud-based phone systems · VMWare and cloud-based hosting · VMWare ESXi · Creating servers · Azure hosting · DR · Server hosting · Networking · VPN tunnels Operational Management · Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals. · Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations. · Direct research on potential technology solutions in support of procurement efforts. · Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities. · Analyze, define, and document system requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other systems, auditing, reporting requirements and production configuration. · Write and maintain functional and technical specifications. · Create test plans, test data sets and automated testing to ensure all components of the system meet specifications. · Provide technical consulting and respond to error reports, problems, or questions.
