Job Description

The Eurofins Discovery team was built by bringing together the market-leading discovery expertise of Panlabs (acquired in 2012 from Ricerca), Cerep (acquired in 2013), EMD Millipore's Discovery & Development Solutions business (acquired from Merck KGaA in 2014), Villapharma Research (acquired in 2017), DiscoverX (acquired 2017), Selcia Drug Discovery (acquired 2018) and Calixar (acquired 2023). ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with all departments within Eurofins Panlabs US to define and implement the Information Technology Solutions strategy, ensuring adherence to corporate and business line standards.

  • Manage the activities, expectations and objectives of a small local team of IT technicians.

  • Assess existing processes and systems, identify areas for improvement based on business/user requirements and IT system functionalities, and recommend enhancements.

  • Actively participate in local IT deployments, including installation, customization, testing, documentation, and training of business applications such as Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN), Instrument Management Software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and other relevant systems. Ensure seamless integration and functionality of these applications within Eurofins Panlabs US, while adhering to project timelines and quality standards.

  • Contribute to the design, architecture, and development of existing and new systems to meet regulatory and business requirements, such as regulatory compliance, data integrity, IP protection, data privacy, disaster recovery, and business continuity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide technical expertise, and drive effective solutions.

  • Serve as the liaison with the Group/Regional IT Infrastructure teams, representing the business in related interactions.

  • Oversee and manage the internal IT support function to ensure efficient and timely resolution of end-user issues and requests. Develop and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure high-quality support services are provided to all stakeholders across the organization.

  • Establish and enforce organizational standards to maintain a high-quality service.

  • Represent Eurofins Panlabs US in relevant IT workgroups and committees, including the Change Advisory Board (CAB).

  • Manage and support inspections and audits conducted by internal and/or external customers and authorities. Proactively identify control gaps, guide remediation efforts, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

  • Uphold Eurofins' values and demonstrate the Eurofins leadership standards by fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the IT team and across the organization.

  • As a supervisor, lead recruitment and selection processes, provide orientation and training to new employees, and identify opportunities for their professional growth and development.

  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment for employees by adhering to relevant health and safety policies and regulations.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent education or experience.

Type and duration of previous experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in IT application systems design, development, deployment, and support;

  • At least 2 years of experience in business process design and improvement, preferably in a laboratory/bioinformatics environment;

  • Experience managing international customers/projects;

  • Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies is welcomed;

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner certification is a plus.

Specific skills required:

  • Strong proficiency in English communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.

  • Deep understanding of project management tools, concepts, and methodologies relevant to IT deployment projects, ensuring efficient and successful project delivery.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory instrument systems and their software, enabling effective integration and optimization of technology solutions within the life sciences domain.

  • Expertise in software design, architecture, and integration processes, along with a solid understanding of relevant technologies and best practices in the field.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards specific to the Life Sciences industry, ensuring adherence to regulations governing data privacy, security, and quality.

Travel:

  • Occasional travel to Eurofins facilities worldwide, including weekends.
