Position Title: Information Technology Manager

Reports to: VP of Finance and IT

Locations: Kennesaw, GA or Bolingbrook, IL

Number of subordinates: 3

Business Unit and Position Summary:

Crane Nuclear is a Business Unit within the Process Flow Technologies of Crane Co, a US multi-national company which specializes in highly engineered products in niche markets. Crane Nuclear provides valves, valve parts, valve testing products, and valve maintenance/testing services to domestic and international commercial nuclear power customers. Crane Nuclear features recognized valve brands and is an industry leader in valve diagnostic technology and valve maintenance/testing scope-based process driven services.

The Information Technology Manager is responsible for managing, monitoring and support of all IT functions, including compliance, Windows servers, virtual environment, firewalls, backup appliances, security systems, network hardware, telecommunications, business systems and user support.

Principle Responsibilities:

Leadership

  • Manage, direct and support IT staff with a focus on team leadership, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

  • Develop and maintain strategic plan for IT.

  • Provide regular prioritization of tasks and project status with manager.

  • Manage training and development for direct reports.

  • Contribute to broader Crane IT organization.

Operational (Shared with the Systems Administrator)

  • Windows server OS implementation and support, and Linux OS.

  • Active Directory management and support.

  • Virtual Environment (VMWare) management and support.

  • Azure and O365.

  • Security systems implementation, management, and support.

  • Firewall implementation, management, and support.

  • Network management and support.

  • Backup and recovery management.

  • Phone system management.

  • End-user support.

  • Vendor relationship and support management.

Compliance

  • SOX compliance and audit cycles.

  • Licensing audits and compliance.

  • Implementation and support of network vulnerability, intrusion detection, ant-virus, web and email filtering and other corporate security technologies.

  • Adhere to all Company polies, safeguard the company's interests and act in an ethical and legal manner as well as report all violations of Company policies and procedures to appropriate management

Other

  • Project Management of IT operations with focus on scope, schedule, and budget delivery

  • Prepare annual capital, expense budgets, and ensure spending is within budget.

  • Manage the renewal and annual support for maintenance agreements.

  • Research new hardware and software solutions.

  • Determine whether the root causes of equipment performance problems are in the software or hardware and develop solid approaches for overcoming them.

  • Development of subordinates.

Qualifications/Experience:

Education / Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, or related field required, or the equivalent technical training or experience.

  • Four (4) or more years of experience in maintaining and administering server computer software and hardware systems in a mid-size network.

  • Two (2) or more years of experience managing IT support staff.

  • ERP Database experience preferred.

Technical Knowledge

  • Cyber Security framework, VMWare, Windows Server operating systems, firewall operations, network protocols, Azure, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft O365, network switches, Microsoft Office suite, IT automation.

Skills

  • Installation, configuration, support, and management of: Microsoft operating systems, VMWare, Active Directory, Firewalls.

  • Strong problem solving and root-cause mindset, having the ability to drive into issues when appropriate and deliver strong end-user support.

  • Verbal and written communication appropriate for manager and executive-level audiences.

  • Strong planning and organization skills.

  • Customer service focus.

  • Study and quickly learn new software systems.

  • Analyze and identify software and hardware issues and accurately diagnose and solve problems.

  • Research and evaluate hardware and software capabilities and trends and make recommendations for system improvements.

  • Meet project deadlines.

  • Communicate effectively and collaborate cooperatively with co-workers, departmental representatives, supervisors, management, and vendors.

Special Requirements:

Required to travel up to 25- 30%.
