The IT Manager installs, maintains, troubleshoots and upgrades computer hardware, software, personal networks, peripheral equipment and electronic mail systems; assesses user training needs and trains users in effective use of applications; makes recommendations regarding hardware and software acquisitions and obtains bids; prepares documentation and provides user assistance to staff. Oversees and supervised IT staff and department.

  • Installs, configures, maintains and upgrades all company servers to ensure accurate and functioning local and web-based programs/databases; administers e-mail and anti-virus systems; ensure network systems and sites are functional.
  • Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, e-mail, network and peripheral equipment problems; makes repairs and corrections where required; provides telephone, in-person and online support to staff.
  • Installs, assembles and configures computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware.
  • Demonstrates positive approaches to operational challenges, incorporating data, best practices, and staff input toward solutions; fosters purposeful relationships with external stakeholders and internal content teams to ensure program sustainability.
  • Makes hardware and software acquisition recommendations including helping users assess needs and providing justification for equipment and services.
  • Coordinates with Data Manager to ensure both staff (and the children we serve) have the technology necessary to perform at the highest level possible. Make suggestions for changes in IT system for improved operation and usage.
  • Continues professional growth, formulates goals, seeks feedback, applies new skills and participates as a team member with colleagues; researches areas of best practices and system improvement to be implements.
  • Provide technical assistance to staff.
  • Provide Training Manager feedback regarding level of staff computer operation proficiency and training needed.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree (A.A.) in Computer Science Education, School Administration or related field and/or specialized training or certification.
  • Requires more than five years, up to and including seven years of related experience.
  • Requires broad knowledge of complex systems, specialized practices, equipment, and procedures (currently operating Exchange 2019, Windows Server 2019, Teamviewer, Malware Bytes, Trend Apex 1).
  • Must possess the confidence, authority, skills and experience to manage multiple projects, maintain time schedules and communicate with all levels of stakeholders.
  • Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics.
  • Requires a high level of confidentiality and flexibility.
  • Work tasks/duties may be required to be completed remotely as assigned.
  • The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move objects or materials up to 40 lbs.
