This position will allow a college student in the IT field the opportunity to learn, observe and be part of Information Technology related tasks to help this individual understand Information Technology in a corporate setting. The IT Intern will be part of a rotation where he/she takes part in Site Support activities, and Development and Enterprise Technology teams. This individual will gain exposure to and have the ability to participate with teams responsible for: Server Side; User and Application Support; development technologies (including C#, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, speech recognition); Responsive Web design; UX design principles; Data mining and data analysis; Quality Assurance; and Project Management.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Work on development/QA tasks including POCs, smaller pieces of a larger project in progress. Tasks may involve a combination of Front end, Back end, DB, Services and integration.

  • Assist with imaging of systems (laptops, PCs, thin clients)

  • Hardware and software user support - printer, phone, new user set ups

  • IT documentation to assist with user support and inventory, application tracking, and technology procedures and research

  • Work independently as well as part of small agile development teams

  • Configuration development along with basic SQL updates and Web updates.

  • Participate in meetings and planning sessions to observe as well as give input based on classroom and prior experience to enhance processes such as demand management processes and project management SharePoint tracking.

  • Evaluation of releases and impacts to internal applications and business process

  • Other duties or tasks as assigned by management.



  • Proficiency in computer applications:

  • Microsoft Excel Manipulation of data; transferring data; development of charts and tables

  • Microsoft Word Entering and formatting text; inserting charts, tables, and other visuals

  • Microsoft PowerPoint Creating and editing slides; inserting text, charts, tables, and visuals

  • Microsoft Visio

  • Microsoft SharePoint

Education and Experience


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Language Ability

Ability to read/analyze/interpret journals/financial reports/legal documents; respond to inquiries/complaints from customers/reg. agencies/ community; write speeches/articles for publication; present info to top mgmt/public groups/ boards of directors.

Mathematical Ability

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
