IT Infrastructure Intern

Key Responsibilities:

Azure Cloud Management:

• Assist in the management and optimization of Azure cloud services.

• Participate in the deployment and configuration of virtual machines, storage solutions, and networking resources in Azure.

• Monitor Azure resources for performance, availability, and cost optimization.

Endpoint Engineering:

• Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of endpoint devices, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.

• Assist in the management of endpoint security solutions such as antivirus software, encryption tools, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) systems.

Network Engineering:

• Collaborate with network engineers to configure and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.

• Assist in troubleshooting network issues and implementing network upgrades or enhancements.

Server Administration:

• Participate in the administration of server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers.

• Assist in server provisioning, configuration, patch management, and performance monitoring.

Information Security:

• Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of information security controls and policies.

• Assist in conducting security assessments, vulnerability scans, and security incident response activities.

• Support the implementation of security awareness training and user access controls.

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

• Strong interest in IT infrastructure technologies and systems administration.

• Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts, preferably with experience in Azure.

• Familiarity with endpoint management and security tools.

• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.

• Basic understanding of server administration principles, including Windows and/or Linux environments.

• Interest in information security principles and best practices.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Position Overview: As an IT Infrastructure Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of IT infrastructure management, including cloud computing, endpoint engineering, network engineering, server administration, and information security. This position is based in Downers Grove, IL. The position pays $23.00 per hour.
