The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, Division of Information Technology is recruiting for a temporary, IT Information Systems Technician position. This position will provide hands-on and telephone technical desktop support and customer service to our customers throughout the department.
Excellent communication skills are required to build relationships with your internal customers and business partners.
This a TEMPORARY, full -time position with benefits and will be located in the downtown Boise office.

Monitors the Service Desk, responding to customer needs accurately and promptly
Provides technical support and quality service to customers on hardware and software applications
Provides training to customers on hardware and software applications
Installs, tests, troubleshoots, and maintains hardware and software products
Tests and installs specific client applications and/or reports using available products
Maintains service logs
Implements backup and recovery procedures
Assists in monitoring and troubleshooting of LAN and WAN system performance and resolving communications and networking problems
NOTE: Candidates must have at least one year of full-time, paid work experience in the information technology (IT) field at the IT Support Technician level or equivalent and meet the following requirements. Experience must have been within the past five years.
Experience evaluating and resolving computer, system, and user problems including compatibility conflicts, application operations, hardware malfunctions, and telecommunications problems
Experience installing and maintaining computer hardware, software, and peripherals in the network and/or multi-platform environment
Experience providing one-on-one IT training
Experience using two or more applications software to support users
Are not required, however, having the minimum qualifications and the education and/or experience below will increase your score.
Experience supporting automated OS deployment tools (such as SCCM, LANDesk OSD, Symantec Ghost, etc.). Typically gained by 6 months of related work experience.
Experience supporting Voice over IP Telephone (VoIP) systems. Typically gained by 6 months of related work experience.
