Position: IT Help Desk Specialist
Location: Fairfax, VA - Onsite Required
Position Description:
The successful IT Help Desk Specialist will be a highly organized self-starter who supports and maintains the company's IT resources including software, hardware and networked systems. The goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently at the user level. This position has significant opportunity for development and learning the technical aspects of building a scalable, secure and stable IT environment.
Required Skills and Responsibilities:
Install and configure software and hardware
Set up accounts and workstations
Troubleshoot desktop issues, support tickets, outages
Enforce security through technical controls and policies
Upgrade systems with new releases and models
Asset and Inventory review
Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
Required Qualifications:
General knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems, basic networking design/protocols, virtualization
General knowledge of system security (operating systems, firewalls, IDS/IPS, etc.)
Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
Excellent communication skills
Able to work both within a team environment and independently
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
5+ years of IT Help desk experience.
Previous experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
BS/BA preferred; professional certifications (i.e. MCSA, MCP, VCP, etc.) are a plus
Clearance Level Required: No Security Clearance Required; US Person Required
Travel: None anticipated
Working Conditions: The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, such as a general office environment, to a warehouse environment.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Must have the ability to stoop, stand, climb, occasionally lift a minimum of 25-50 lbs.
Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites.
Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine
Hourly rate depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the hourly rate, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.

Pay Range: $20 - $45 per hour
