The IT Business Analyst is responsible for the timely review, business assessment, and where appropriate post initiative business value validation. This includes but is not limited to gathering business requirements, obtaining meaningful KPIs and/or hard/soft bottom line improvement (BLI) information, when appropriate generating a cost benefit analysis, completing a warm transfer to the responsible project manager or team lead, and conducting post initiative business value validation

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As work is assigned to the BA function perform a timely review, assessment, and initial classification of requested IT optimizations/enhancements or net new applications.

  • Gathering of business requirements associated with IT requests requiring BA involvement.

  • Active participant maintaining the IT Project Prioritization Group (PPG) information and reports.

  • Ensure IT PPG members, business sponsors, and IT management are current and have the correct information to vote and/or provide input on initiatives on the PPG list.

  • Provide rough labor estimates of initiatives meeting criteria for BA involvement to the IT Resource Management team.

  • Identification of meaningful KPIs and/or hard/soft BLIs associated with initiatives processed by the BA team.

  • Obtain buy-in/approval from business sponsors regarding identified KPIs and/or BLIs.

  • Track requests and conduct post initiative validation of business value previous identified by the BA team.

  • Contribute to the generation of Decision Documents.

  • Where required aid or facilitate the building, submission, and analysis of RFP or RFI.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:

Sitting for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; standing for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; walking for up to 2 hours a day, 1 hour at a time. Seeing as it relates to general, near, color, and peripheral vision. Hearing as it relates to normal and telephone conversations.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration (or relevant major) or equivalent work experience is required.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 2 years of financial, decision support, and/or business analytics experience is required.

Minimum 2 years of experience working in a team environment and an ability to work independently with little oversight is required.

Minimum 2 years of experience performing project assessments or equivalent experience is required.

Minimum 3 years of IT experience is required.

Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience is preferred. Minimum 2 years of working with business analytic tools of benefit.

MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint experience is required.

MS Visio, SharePoint, and MS Project or Workfront is preferred. Hospital Information System, Laboratory Information System, Radiology Information System, PACS, Pharmacy Information System, Medication Administration, CPOE, Orders Results Management Server, network, PC, and communication systems experience is a plus.

The credentialed trainer is responsible for providing successful in-classroom training and IT support to a diversified audience for our major Healthcare Network's/IT Department's electronic healthcare record system. The credentialed trainer is also responsible for utilizing the current Epic system applications as well as future IT project applications. It will require flexible work hours to meet the needs of the user community. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Develop a strong understanding of Information Technology (IT) and the Epic application(s) as implemented at SLUHN. * Conduct clinical software training classes for the SLUHN community of workforce members * as assigned based on credentialing competency. * Assist in delivering training and communication of changes, enhancements, and upgrade education by working with the Instructional Designers to disseminate prepared and approved materials. * Demonstrates competency in the curriculum and applications, demonstrating growth, development and appropriate communication, in the application(s) and/or role(s) for which they are credentialed. * Recommend adjustments and updates to learning materials and curriculum as needed. * Administer competency tests to end users. * Respond to end users' needs and collaborate with other training staff to identify and * develop appropriate technology solutions for teaching and learning. * Maintain training records in the learning management system (My ELearning). * Support the SLUHN community during system activation(s)/go lives, system upgrades, and SLUHN campus/location openings, as needed/as assigned. * Provide status reports, work product, assignments and updates for projects/initiatives in a timely manner. * Act as a resource with rotation on the clinical service desk and provide one to one support for proper application use, workflow knowledge and provide first call resolution for the IT and Epic applications. * Maintain Level 2 support for training and workflow related issues. * On-Call Support required (as assigned if necessary) * Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the * proper release of information. PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Sit up to 2 hours per day; 1 hour at a time. Stand for up to 10 hours per day; 8 hours at a time. Walk 6 hours per day; 15 minutes at a time. Consistently lift, carry and push objects up to 10 pounds. Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through touch .Must be able to hear as it relates normal conversation and high/low frequencies. Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color and peripheral vision. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, clinical field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience with providing training with an (EHR) Electronic Health Record is preferred. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: This position requires completion of the credentialing process including an intense five to seven-week training program on the applications(s) you will be teaching, competency checking, teach-backs and teaching the application before a review panel prior to credentialing.
