A Saas company headquartered out of Silicone Valley just recently opened up a Dallas office and is looking to grow and expand their presence in the DFW area. The company develops tablets for restaurant tables so guests can order food, pay their bill, and play games all from the comfort of their seats. They're looking to add an IT Engineer, someone who wants to grow into a DevOps role, to the team. This person is someone who'll be dealing with a lot of virtualizations and AWS (EC2s, S3, and VPC). They want someone willing to learn new IT systems, understand them, get them to work, and virtualize them.
This will be a hybrid environment (more Windows heavy) and this person will be helping recommend, design, and implement improvements to their Lab infrastructure and tools with the end goal of automating as much as possible. They'll be working with the technical teams of the larger restaurant customers to set up remote lab systems, troubleshoot any issues, and improve the integrations.
Scripting experience with Python/Bash will be extremely helpful, as this person will be helping install scripts to the tablets and monitor the logfiles, as well as a working knowledge of network technologies. You'll be exposed to Ethernet, VLAN, remote desktop, and firewalls.
Experience with restaurant POS systems is a huge plus, but not a necessity. You'll be working with Aloha, Positouch, and Micros. You'll get these systems to work with sometimes limited documentation, and virtualize them, allowing them to be run in AWS.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience in a Systems Engineer role (Hybrid, mostly Windows)
AWS in a production environment (EC2, S3, VPC)
Python/Bash Scripting
Ability to make recommendations, design, and implement improvements to Lab infrastructure.
