In this role you will:
You will manage engineering related programs or major technical work stream of a broader program. Ensures that the scope of the projects within the broader transformation or program align with business priorities and that business value is measured for prioritization.
You will develop and maintain broad knowledge and awareness of Financial Services industry forces, competition, and trends to assess viability of approaches and strategies to engineering programs. Monitors financial, legal, and other regulatory environments to ensure strategies are with the overall company strategy and market conditions.
You will communicate with partners, leaders, team members, management, and department partners to ensure that requirements and priorities are comprehensible. Monitors project progress and results and submits regular status reports to management and internal/external partners. Ensures the development and execution of change management and communication plans.
You will build and maintain relationships across program partners and actively fosters effective communication between internal and external parties. Drives key decisions to ensure alignment with overarching goals across partners.
You will ensure all steps are overseed to mitigate risk and maintains control, compliance, audit, and legal requirements on engineering projects. Maintains an appropriate level of technical and business knowledge to support program implementation.

What it takes:
Minimum of eight years related business experience with four years of engineering project management experience required.
Must have 3-5 years of experience as a software developer
3+ years of experience in people leadership
Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline Meaningful experience on cloud application architecture (micro-services, containers), operations practices (Agile, DevOps, DevSecOps, and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery) and tools.
Experience leading a high-functioning, highly agile team of engineers that delivers scalable and responsive web-based cloud solutions.

Success will be measured by; how effectively you are able to deliver APIs and micro-services in a constantly changing technology landscape and value you are creating to enterprise wide stakeholders by means of enabling client journeys and supporting BAU.
You will possess a strong technical background, have a demonstrated ability to think strategically, articulate solutions clearly to varying audiences, and assist in the implementation, crew education and rollout of the micro-services and API's.
This role requires you to work closely with architects from CTO, Retail & ES&F, as well as, with Vanguard partners, senior business and IT leaders.
