Lyft is searching for a seasoned IT Engineer who will be responsible for managing and supporting office builds and expansion nationwide.

The ideal candidate will be experienced coordinating multiple complex office build and expansion projects in a fast growth environment. To be successful in this role, you will have had significant previous experience in similar roles in and a track record of efficient execution. This role is hands-on and will require the ability to balance project management and technical execution.


  • Coordinate Lyft's office build and expansion projects with Office team, external vendors, and the Systems and Network team to manage the deployment of IT infrastructure in all new and expanding Lyft offices

  • Coordinate the nitty gritty details of design, planning, sourcing, and delivery of services and hardware for parallel office builds and expansion projects. Communicate timelines, roadblocks, and set expectations with all stakeholders

  • Plan, coordinate, install, and troubleshoot IT equipment in new offices; including, but not limited to cooling, power, network equipment, Internet circuits, printers, phones, video conferencing, and other IT infrastructure

  • Document and refine relevant technical standards, align on standard process with internal stakeholders, communicate roles and responsibilities, and continuously evolve and improve the office build process over time

Experience & Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in project management related to office build and expansion

  • Technical depth adequate to insure execution and hold people accountable in networking, construction, A/V sub-disciplines

  • Demonstrated ability to create order from chaos with minimal oversight.

  • Construction background or demonstrated ability to interact with complex construction teams with no learning curve

  • Significant project and portfolio management skills.

  • Significant vendor management skills

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

  • Able to travel as needed to locations for walkthroughs and installations

This role would primarily be responsible for the implementation of our global network to newly acquired companies' branch offices. The position will closely partner with the Real Estate team in determining the appropriate strategy for each office, which includes discovery and analysis, ordering of equipment and circuits, creating a detailed implementation plan, and ensuring Salesforce security policies are enforced. Qualified candidates must have a strong background in office network build outs, network security, and vendor and budget management. This position will require domestic and international travel. Experience with Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) activities and processes a plus. Responsibilities: * Point of contact for IT in all Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) activities related to office network integration or build out. * Partner with Salesforce Real Estate, Security and regional IT teams to develop the office network strategy and timelines. * Perform discovery and assessment of the office that includes the network, physical space, power and cooling capacity of computer room, audio/video capabilities of conference rooms, and document findings. * Develop any short term integration strategies as necessary. * Create detailed plan to hand to the deployment teams. * Manage the deployment of Palo Alto Networks based firewall solutions and monitoring for network protection and monitoring. * Ensure Salesforce security standards are met for the network. * Create & manage budget and procure necessary hardware and network circuits. * Create any operational support models needed for each location that may require legacy infrastructure to be maintained. * Manage vendor relationships. Required Skills/Experience: * Bachelor's degree, or equivalent IT certification. * Ideal candidate should have at least 8 -10 years experience in building and supporting large scale enterprise networks. * Network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, etc) and telephony systems from leading technology vendors such as Cisco, Nexus, Palo Alto Networks * Comprehensive hands on experience with LAN/WLAN/WAN/MAN, DMVPN, MPLS, VPN, SDWAN. * Proficiency working with access control lists (ACLs), TCP/IP, VLAN, VRF, Port Security, * Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple objectives and initiatives. * Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience presenting highly conceptual and/or detailed designs to executives, mid-level management, fellow architects, and peer engineers. * Experience in audio / video conferencing room (Google Chrome for Meetings, Zoom, Lifesize, etc) and digital signage solutions a plus. * Experience with suppliers and ordering equipment in Global and emerging markets a plus.
