IT End User Computing Manager

Plans, organizes, coordinates, and supervises activities of personnel engaged in the design, development, implementation, and support of computer-based information systems, applications and services. Responsibilities include the development of long range configuration, equipment, budgets, and staffing plans. Maintains awareness of industry trends and active vendor relationships. Interfaces with internal and external customers.

Summary of Duties:

  • Plans, organizes, coordinates, and supervises IT personnel engaged in establishing, implementing, and maintaining information systems and/or in designing and implementing procedures to prevent inadvertent or deliberate disclosure, alteration or destruction of unclassified, sensitive, or classified information.

  • Ensures all relevant software and operating system patches are applied to desktops within established Service Level Agreement.

  • Manages virtual and physical computer systems, including gold images and strategy for transition to new OS versions.

  • Manages Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) system and endpoints.

  • Provides business perspective to department personnel, coordinates department activities with other information technology areas, corporate, and NSE organizations, and assures a high quality of customer service.

  • Develops operational plans, budgets, goals and priorities for the department and coordinates the allocation of required resources.

  • Effects changes in resources, plans, and procedures to facilitate achieving goals.

  • Identifies training requirements of personnel, develops appropriate training plans, and coordinates personnel development.

  • Develops processes, practices, and procedures to assure the maximum possible quality of the products and services.

  • May perform other duties as required.

  • Supervises employees and performs other managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • May perform other duties as required.

  • Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HS&E requirements to ensure the protection of employees, the public, and the environment. Takes actions necessary to "stop" work when an unsafe condition or action is identified. Every employee has the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified.

You Must Have:

  • Experienced professional with more than 3 years in a managerial / team leadership role within Information Technology.

  • At least 8 years of computing systems deployment, project management, or computer related technical activities supporting software and operating system patches, virtual and physical computer systems, including gold images and strategy for transition to new OS versions.

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.

Job Responsibilities: * Determine, identify and coordinate electrical power installation for new and existing IT hardware. * Coordinate IT hardware replacement, installation, movement, replacement, and removal activities. * Create and maintain documentation for IT hardware using tools that include the following: Microsoft Office products, Remedy ITSM Suite with integrated products and AutoCAD. * Support enterprise systems maintenance windows. * Support the procurement and complete the installation of low voltage cabling to provide connectivity to existing systems and to internal KVM monitoring systems. * Evaluate and determine the quality and quantity of IT hardware repair parts and tools to reduce unnecessary duplication and variety, as well as to ensure that needed materials are on hand. * Responsible for IT hardware ingress and egress from the data center facility: * Receive, unload and store internal, customer, and vendor IT hardware delivered shipments at the time of facility arrival. * Plan, pack and coordinate the removal of disposed or excessive IT hardware. * Participate in weekly change control board reviews. * Conduct physical inventory of IT equipment. * Report, coordinate and resolve hardware configuration item data discrepancies. * Escort internal IT staff and external customers with limited or no security clearances into secured data center facility and assist with or monitor routine or emergency IT hardware maintenance activities. * Monitor and ensure adherence to appearance and safety standards within the data center facility, in accordance with data center policy and procedures. Report all non-compliance issues to the floor manager. Candidate Requirements * Minimum 6-10 years' experience with job related skills. * Bachelor's Degree in relevant field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree. * Minimum 4 years' experience with performing duties similar to those described above * Experience with management of similar data center projects and ability to manage multiple tasks at once. * IT service and hardware field maintenance experience. * Proven analytical, problem-solving and hardware troubleshooting skills. * Ability to physically and safely lift 50 Lbs. * U.S. Citizenship * Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance Criterion Systems is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
