We are seeking an IT Director to lead internal strategy and implementation for systems and people in support of a fast-growing international company.
As the Director of IT, you will be responsible for managing and evolving our internal system infrastructure to align with our long-term business requirements. We are seeking candidates with a successful track record executing IT strategy in a rapidly growing technology company and the ability to manage directly and by influence. Ideal candidates will be able to be hands-on and directly contribute to the successful execution of the teams initiatives and serve as the primary decision-maker for project prioritization and resourcing. Your mission is to understand and anticipate the technology requirements of a rapidly-scaling business, and to lead a team that proactively meets these needs.
Define IT roadmap and initiatives in collaboration with business and engineering leaders in order to ensure that business objectives are met.
Evaluate, recommend, acquire and administer critical business applications.
Build relationships with vendors and negotiate advantageous contracts.
Drive execution of IT projects: prioritize, allocate resources, develop and implement project plans.
Manage, train, and build out the IT organization as the company grows. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Identify inefficient, ineffective, or frustrating IT processes and technology and fix them.
Develop, implement, and test disaster recovery and backup procedures to enable business continuity.
Manage selection, standardization, purchasing, configuration and refresh of end user hardware (e.g. laptops).
Integrate or migrate the IT systems of acquired companies.
Manage internal networking infrastructure with a focus on security. Build out new infrastructure at new locations as needed.
Willing and able to both lead a team and be hands-on.
Strong communication, project management and logistical skills are critical. Must be able to drive projects spanning vendors and numerous internal groups to completion. Must be able to effectively understand the needs of internal teams, propose solutions, and resolve competing priorities. Must be able to clearly communicate ideas and status.
Security-conscious: Subject matter expertise on security topics and data privacy; vigilant in their application to technologies and processes.
Strong knowledge of network and infrastructure systems e.g. DNS, VPN, and network design
Good working knowledge of SAAS business applications such as ERP, CRM, and email. Specific experience with Google Apps, Netsuite and Salesforce are a plus.
Up to speed on current state of the art in terms of applications and infrastructure and keeping an eye on where things are going next
Capable of working in a fast paced startup environment. Adaptable to changing circumstances.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.
10 years of IT experience, 5 years of managerial experience
Travel as needed to FBN field offices
