The Hartford's Personal Lines IT Team is seeking a highly motivated experienced IT Leader who is responsible for leading teams to successfully deliver Personal Lines programs, develop our talent, and propel our agile transformation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day work direction and strategic planning for short, medium and long term projects.

  • Ensure robust delivery plans with respect to time, budget, scope, transition into production, etc.

  • Work closely with key stakeholders, including senior level executive sponsors, to define roadmaps and establish priorities. Manage the competing needs of multiple stakeholders.

  • Ensure that IT solutions align to defined business strategies and use influence to ensure execution meets long term objectives.

  • Keep IT and Business stakeholders informed of program status, risks, and key decisions. Ensure transparent and timely communications.

  • Maintain overall accountability for financial and resource management of all release train deliverables from small enhancements to large programs.

  • Develop materials/presentations for executive stakeholders on progress, successes, agile maturity, etc.

  • Manage the relationship with IT, Business and Operations partners at all levels all the organization.

  • Mature all Agile practices in Personal Lines.

  • Foster communication and collaboration between Agile teams within the Release Train and all appropriate stakeholders.

  • Facilitate the agile processes at the program level, including planning periodic reviews and planning sessions with team and product stakeholders, such as ART Synch, Release Planning, System Demos & Solution Demos, the Inspect & Adapt Workshops, and the Scrum of Scrums

  • Promote team successes on a regular basis.

Management/Supervisory responsibilities:

  • Management responsibilities for multiple agile teams all aligned to a common customer enablement or value stream.

  • Encourage and support personal development and the development of the scrum teams

  • Execute on the workforce strategy for the workstream(s), inclusive of vendor partners, such that the ratios of employee/vendor, onshore/offshore, HIG offices, skill and technology needs are considered to achieve an optimum balance.

  • Provides input and feedback on growth and development opportunities for team member

  • Mature a culture of continuous improvement and innovation

  • Engage and enable high performance through fostering an inclusive environment while maximizing agility through coaching, learning, and talent acquisition and development

  • 10 years of IT Program or Portfolio Management experience

  • RTE and/or Scrum Master experience using Agile delivery frameworks

  • Hands on experience with Agile techniques: User Stories, Features, Capabilities and Epics development and refinement, Continuous Integration, Behavior Drive Development (BDD) test automation framework, Continuous Deployments, Regression Testing, Pair Programming, Burn Down Metrics, Velocity, etc.

  • Experience with Lean Portfolio Management facilitation at the program, portfolio and executive-level

  • Hands on expertise in Agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, utilizing CA Agile Central/Rally or a similar tool.

  • Deep knowledge of software development processes and procedures to understand team needs includes fundamentals of iterative and incremental development.

  • Solid conceptual understanding of technology components, DevOps tools and practices

  • Resource Management Skills:
    ability to determine supply and demand and obtain necessary resources across a matrixed organization to complete the work successfully.

  • Ability to work across all levels of the organizations

  • Prior experience in an Agile Transformation in a large organization

  • Manage financials across the release train to delivery complex solutions

  • Capability to build empowered, self-managing, self-organizing teams

  • SAFe Release Train Engineer Certification is a plus

  • SAFe Certified Scrum Master (SSM) is a plus

The Personal Lines Assistant Director ~ Product Management has profit and loss responsibility for our auto and homeowner's insurance products for a state or states within an assigned geography. This position reports into AVP, Region Product Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Accountable for achieving / exceeding revenue and income targets for assigned states * Develop strategic vision and tactical plan that will profitably expand market share within assigned states * Address the day-to-day needs of numerous functional area partners who are supporting assigned states * Remain grounded in state-specific data so that shifts in competitiveness and profitability are well anticipated * Work directly with organizational teammates when developing, customizing, and launching new products * Partner with resources necessary to maintain state compliance, quality and competitiveness regarding policy forms and coverage * Effectively utilizes a network of reliable, efficient working relationships with other departments including countrywide product, pricing, agency sales.
