Kelaca is looking for an IT Director for our client partner in Raleigh, NC. The IT Director is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Systems Administrator and Help Desk team. In this role, the IT Director is to ensure the 24/7 uptime and service of internal business systems, infrastructure, and end user support. Additionally, the IT Director will work closely with stakeholders and department leaders to meet the goals of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the internal IT team to ensure 24/7 operational support for business systems in both infrastructure and SaaS applications.
  • Perform technical work as required related to AWS and Azure hosted infrastructure and Windows system administration.
  • Serve as an expert and/or effective contributor to automate operational processes and continuous process improvements.
  • Operate and improve standard ITIL practices in an environment containing 500+ virtual machines in multiple regions, with Branch offices in many countries and complex networking.
  • Work closely with development department to provide test servers, hardware and software.
  • Collaborate with the various departments and teams outside the department to understand the requirements and to deliver the requested services conforming to operations processes and policies.
  • Provide people leadership for the team, including designing training programs, onboarding programs, and identifying key players within the team.
  • Build and maintain relationship with the Cloud Hosting/3rd party vendors.
  • Identify and lead initiatives for automation and process improvement.
  • Define, establish, and report Key Performance Indicators to monitor operations services health.
  • Conduct System Outage, Root Cause Analysis, and reporting. Implement corrections to prevent the recurrence of incidents.
  • Develop, implement, communicate, and enforce IT policies, procedures, and process improvements.
  • Lead cross-functional teams; recruit, hire, mentor, and manage personnel with diverse technical skill sets.
  • Build and maintain working partnership with the professional services, project managers, and IT support teams to deliver optimal service to customers.
  • Conduct effective operational planning and execution of the planned work items to ensure timely work completion and service delivery.
  • Host daily team standups to ensure the completion of the planned work.
  • Schedule monthly 1:1s with each team member to ensure their well-being.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's in computer science or equivalent technology experience.
  • 3+ years in technical management or team lead role.
  • 5+ years of experience in AWS and Azure based cloud operations.
  • Proven Linux and Windows systems administration experience.
  • Demonstrated automation experience in Terraform, PowerShell, or Ansible.
  • Excellent technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to implement processes and controls to find root cause.
  • Proven prior experience with a broad set of information systems and technology infrastructures, including cloud networking, virtual machines, identity and access management, and various database platforms.
  • Deliver effective service management through the definition and adoption of a governance practice that uses KPIs and metrics to track and measure the quality-of-service delivery to internal clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to be the liaison between the business and the technical organization members.
  • Demonstrated ability for planning, tracking, and analyzing progress on all aspects of technical projects.
  • Customer-focused, high energy, and results-driven.
  • Experience with SSO like Azure AD or Okta a plus.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and docker containers a plus.
  • Any AWS and/Azure certifications a plus.

Hours of Work in Office: Monday-Thursday; 8am-5pm, Friday: 8am-12pm

FLSA Exemption Status: Exempt
