Position Summary

The information technology director is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions at the location. This includes directing all IT operations to meet guest requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions. The director works with Executive Management to grow the company through the use of technological resources.

Essential Functions

  1. Ensures the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions.
  2. Directs implementation and execution of new/upgraded information systems via well-defined plans including procedures, deadlines, and accountability.
  3. Analyzes complex business needs presented by the user community and recommends technical solutions.
  4. Evaluates and implements IT procedures and equipment for maximum efficiency and cost containment.
  5. Ensures users are provided professional, courteous, and timely support and service.
  6. Structures, leads, trains, and develops IT staff for maximum effectiveness.
  7. Stays abreast of trends and regulation to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
  8. Participates on all hardware and software evaluations and maintains vendor contracts.
  9. Perform liaison duties between users, operations, and technical staff in the areas of systems design, modifications or trouble shooting.
  10. Works in a consultative fashion with other department heads, such as marketing, production and operations as an adviser of technologies that may improve their efficiency and effectiveness.
  11. Conducts research and case studies on leading edge technologies and makes determinations on the probability of implementation.
  12. Acts as a good steward of ICONA resources and ensures control of the IT departmental budgets.
  13. Develops and maintains company Disaster Recovery Plan.
  14. Develops/selects and conducts user training on an as-needed basis.
  15. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • BS in related filed and at least 10 years experience in the Information Technology arena.
  • 5 years management and strategic experience in this field or MBA/MS in related field, 2 of which must be managerial and strategic.
  • Ideal background would include Hospitality with a thorough understanding of POS systems and PCI Compliance.

Abilities:

  • Ability to actively communicate, inspire and motivate all levels of staff.
  • Ability to think and act strategically and proactively.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.
  • Technical

  • Strategic Thinking.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.

Travel:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
