  • Sets up and monitors database backups, space requirements, and consistency checks.

  • Provides physical data modeling, query analysis, routine maintenance, and performance tuning for existing databases.

  • Analyzes information requirements and develops specifications for database construction and maintenance to ensure economy, efficiency, safety of information and utilization of the new technical developments.

  • Installs and configures hardware and software for new databases. Assists in troubleshooting and technical system support for the database programming group.

  • Develops a methodology for the ongoing assessment of database performance and the identification of problem areas.

  • Develops a security scheme for the database environment, as well as assisting in disaster recovery if necessary.

  • Participates in the assesment of new hardware and software solutions.

The Database Administrator is responsible for providing technical and organizational leadership for the enterprise Microsoft SQL database environment or the Epic Cache database, including overseeing the development and organization of the databases, assessment and implementation of new technologies. Ability to use utilities, whether written or purchased to support and maintain the database environment is required.

VIEW JOBS 2/7/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-07T00:00 Job Description Job #: 1023322 The Windows Systems Administrator will play a fundamental role in tailoring our systems to meet business needs. You will build virtual and physical servers and storage, setup logging, implement monitoring, and maintain these servers to facilitate employee efficiency. Primary Responsibilities: * Collaborate with the appropriate departments and customers to build systems that supports organizational requirements. * Maintain current server infrastructure. * Provide recommendations and fixes to technical problems in a cost-effective manner * Automation of tasks using a combination of scripting, and configuration management systems * Troubleshoots and performs break-fix tasks on all systems as necessary including servers, appliances, and systems * Maintain systems security * Ensure precise, consistent and timely communications with the users and management * Maintain detailed records and prepare communications as needed * Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously. * Participates in Corporate continuous improvement initiatives to enhance client service, efficiency, and profitability. * Participates in selected inter departmental meetings, conferences, conference calls, and planning. * Document tasks completed and in progress daily. Education and Experience Requirements: * 5+ years of experience as Systems Administrator * Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Server and Storage solutions * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio * MCSE preferred * Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V * Experience with Microsoft System Center * Experience with BUDR systems preferably Veeam * Experience deploying server hardware * Experience with system security and system hardening * Experience with current endpoint and gateway security solutions Desired Skills: * Experience with networking is desirable * Time management and multi-tasking skills * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Familiar with storage management * Familiar with Windows clustering * Familiar with all Windows Operation Systems (Windows 7,10,Server 2016/2019) * Familiar with server and workstation deployment * Some experience with Linux is preferred * Ability to easily adapt to changes in processes, procedures, and priority EEO Employer Apex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
