About the Position:

The position of the IT Data Analyst is responsible for developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems, and reporting capabilities to enhance and ensure the Juniper IT department is executing at the greatest efficiency and effectiveness. This position should be highly skilled in all aspects of data analytics, including data acquisition, processing, generation, and visualization. This individual will be accountable for the generation of key performance indicators and measures and advise on data and process improvements for greater organizational and vendor accountability and transparency.

Position Objectives:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain leading-edge analytic systems, taking complicated problems and building simple frameworks.

  • Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex data sets.

  • Evaluate organizational methods and provide source-to-target mappings and information-model specification documents for data sets.

  • Create best practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization.

  • Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, developing and maintaining protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data.

  • Work directly with management and stakeholders to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with service owners, service integration managers, and process owners to understand and maintain focus on their analytical needs, including identifying critical metrics and KPI's, and deliver actionable insights to relevant decision makers.

  • Proactively analyze data to answer key questions from stakeholders with a focus on what drives business performance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity.

  • Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis integrating various reporting components from multiple data sources.

  • Define and implement data acquisition and integration logic, selecting the most appropriate combination of methods and tools within the Juniper defined technology stack to ensure optimal scalability and performance of the solution.

  • Develop and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources, and build scripts that will make the data evaluation process more flexible and/or scalable across data sets.

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns across complex data sets and processes.

  • Locate and define process improvement opportunities and work with process owners and stakeholders to implement such opportunities.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or Statistics

  • 3+ years of experience as a data analyst or business analyst

  • Lean Six Sigma knowledge and experience. Green Belt or higher preferred

  • Excellent analytic skills, including data mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization

  • Strong technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations

  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques

  • Strong working knowledge of SQL, Excel, Power Pivot, Power BI, DAX, Tableau

  • Ability to program in newer and emerging languages such as R and Python desired

  • Good working knowledge and experience in ITIL frameworks and processes

  • Good knowledge, experience, and understanding of ServiceNow tool and data structure

In this business-facing technical role, the person in this position will plan and execute accurate and meaningful data collection processes across multiple platforms, from the web, native mobile app to living room devices. By leveraging business and technical expertise, the Digital Analytics Engineer will ensure user behavior data collected delivers actionable insights to improve technical engines, marketing programs, site functionality, UX design and merchandising placement, etc. What you'll Do: 1. Develop user behavior tracking strategy to enable accurate reporting and insight-driven analytics, design and maintain digital analytics architecture to accommodate changing business initiatives and evolving new technology in Video-on-demand entertainment industry 2. Gather business requirements on user behavior tracking for new product features, interface redesign and new apps, develop and document technical tracking specifications based on business priorities and technical feasibility; work with the dev team and QA team to implement and QA the tracking specifications and requirements 3. Standardize and automate marketing campaign tracking and QA process, work with marketing and analytics team to ensure accurate tracking across marketing channels on the web and selected living room devices 4. Provide technical consultation to measure A/B testing on a major technical initiative, such as new search and personalization engine, as well as new product functionalities 5. Ensure data quality by periodically auditing KPIs from different sources, resolving data discrepancies, and setting-up monitoring alerts 6. Improve data infrastructure by automating data processing rules, maintaining data feed to Big Data system, troubleshooting data issues 7. Evangelize digital analytics concept by providing consultation, training and documentation to QA and analytics team; promote and cultivate a data-driven decision making culture at Vudu 8. Constantly explore, evaluate and advocate new analytics technology and tools to empower advanced analytics capability and drive actionable insights to deliver business value Who you are: Hands-on expert level knowledge of Adobe Analytics, including best practices, implementation, trouble-shooting and driving solutions to ensure accuracy Experience with Hadoop and PIG/HIVE or good SQL skills Proficiency in Excel, the ability to synthesize and analyze large sets of data Highly motivated problem-solver with the ability to work independently with cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects simultaneously and to adapt to changing priorities Approachable team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills Attentiveness to data accuracy with the ability to spot data discrepancies and subtleties in metrics definitions Experience working in an e-commerce environment, preferably in VOD entertainment industry Minimum Qualifications...Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position.
