Description:

Information Systems Technician to support the unclassified end user computing environment located at multiple Colorado Springs facilities.

This position will provide installation, repair, configuration and preventative maintenance of personal computers, network equipment, and/or telecommunications equipment.

Exhibits an understanding of engineering application configurations and integration with the desktop.

Proficient in Microsoft operating systems, and the components of the MS Office Suite.

Answers internal inquires and troubleshoots software and hardware failures either in person or on the phone.

Performs hardware and software moves, adds and changes.

Ensures systems and related equipment are in working condition.

Maintains records on repairs, down time, changes and updates.

Job functions:

  • Provide Windows systems desktop support for engineering programs; including support for multiple Windows OS variants (Windows 7, 10), troubleshooting and resolving end user issues Provide end-user client and application support. Utilize the IT work order system and meet all service level agreements Interface and coordinate with Security, desktop, helpdesk, and network groups Images and configures computer systems for employees Troubleshoot and resolve user hardware and software issues Set up and configure audio/visual equipment Provide basic one-on-one training to users on Microsoft Office products and other standard software applications Travel to multiple sites in the Colorado Springs area on a daily basis using personal transportation Lift up to 50Lbs Other duties as assigned

    Basic Qualifications:
  • 2+ years End User Computing Support Associates Degree (or 6 years related work experience) in related discipline CompTIA Security+ or CISSP Certification, DoD 8570 IAT Level II Valid drivers license with a clean driving record Preferred Additional

    Skills:
    Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance Microsoft Windows 7/10 MCP Strong Microsoft OS, Microsoft Office skills Ability to be fully 8570.1 certified IAT II or Higher within 6 months (Security + CE) A team player with strong customer focus Self-starter and have ability to work with minimal supervision Strong customer service skills

Greets and assists visitors and ensures the public entering DHS receives necessary direction. * Conducts client intervention using multiple CBMS screens to assist clients directly with problem resolution to program areas. * Communicates via phone and e-mail with appropriate personnel to facilitate client intervention in conjunction with program-based needs. * Issues Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards for assistance programs; resolves EBT account problems. * Provides information on housing, rent rebate, and other community agency referrals based on client need. * Receives incoming monies to the department, issues receipts for payments, and removes overpayment amounts as directed by Finance. * Reads and discerns case comments and communicates appropriately with a variety of clients. * Assures quality control of client applications for program services; provides dated receipts and customer service response forms for quality assurance of service provision. * Ensures files and incoming unit mail are distributed accurately to appropriate personnel. * Reads, understands and complies with agency letters and department policies and procedures as related to daily, weekly and monthly tasks. * Diffuses hostile client interactions; directs lobby traffic when emergency situations arise. * Performs other duties as required. Qualifications * High School diploma or equivalent required. * Minimum two (2) years full-time customer service experience required, preferably in a human services agency. * Bi-lingual proficiency in Spanish and English highly desired. * Ability to perform basic mathematical functions. * Working knowledge of personal computer system and computer programs. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs preferred. * Ability to learn and proficiently use multiple computer programs to provide accurate customer service. * Ability to use standard office equipment including computer, fax machine, copier and telephone. * Ability to perform multiple tasks in a highly stressful and high volume work environment. * Ability to interact with difficult and potentially hostile clients. * Ability to efficiently plan, schedule, and organize in a detail-oriented work environment. Ability to assess situations and make prudent and appropriate decisions; ability to apply conflict resolution and problems solving skills. * Ability to work effectively with co-workers, DHS personnel, and clients; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. * Maintain regular and punctual attendance. * Must pass conditional post offer background investigation and drug screen.
