IT Coordinator

The IT Coordinator oversees the administration of the School of Public Health's hardware, including desktops, laptops, peripherals, and A/V equipment. They are responsible for developing the specifications for the hardware, developing and implementing equipment setup, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with student workers and campus colleagues to resolve problems and questions raised by the school's faculty, staff, and students regarding SPH and UMD IT resources. The IT Coordinator is responsible for leading projects such as A/V upgrades, computer management changes, and inventory management.

Responsibilities include:

• Configure, deploy, and maintain SPH computing resources; employ Microsoft Active Directory services to manage permissions and computer inventory and perform periodic audits of access rights; maintain and configure systems using remote support tools including InTunes, Windows Admin Center, and Jamf to distribute security updates and software packages as well as to provide help requested by users.

• Troubleshoot technology problems and answer related questions for SPH users; resolve issues escalated above frontline/student worker support.

• Advise on hardware recommendations for SPH and serve as an asset specialist for the school.
