Position Description

We are looking for a skilled IT coordinator who will maintain our information technology systems and networks. You will perform both technical and administrative tasks to ensure functionality and efficiency of systems. Must be knowledgeable in software, hardware and networks. Must be critical thinkers and problem-solvers with great attention to detail. Since end user support and teamwork are important aspects of the role, excellent communication and people skills are required.

  • Institute protocols across departments and projects
  • Provide advice on the most suitable IT choices
  • Provide technical support or training for systems and networks
  • Act as link between end users and higher level support
  • Install and configure software and Hardware
    • Printers, workstations, upgrades, testing, training, ELD installation...
    • Company will be implementing The DAWG application (TMW - TruckMate) which will require strong SQL knowledge.
  • Monitor system and network performance
  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs and data restoration
  • Performance maintenance activities (e.g. backups)
  • Maintain licenses and upgrade schedules
  • Collaborate with team to maintain standards and functionality


  • Proven Experience (minimum 2-3 yrs) as an IT coordinator or similar role
  • Experience with TMW - TruckMate, is a plus, but not required.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Experience in network management and help desk support is appreciated
  • Solid knowledge of IT systems and applications
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Great attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Excellent organizational and coordination abilities
  • Self-starter with a passion for IT/ excited about learning new applications.
  • Degree in information technology or computer science is preferred

No Duties and Responsibilities Loyola University Chicago is hiring a Technology Coordinator for the School of Communication. This position reports to the Dean and will be responsible for managing the Owl Lab – the school's digital media and technology lab. Additionally, as a technology coordinator, this position will focus on servicing students, faculty and staff and ensuring that communications throughout the school's websites are consistent, clear, and up to date. Responsibilities include: * Recruit, hire, train and manage student workers each semester to assist in the lab. * Inventories 600+ pieces of equipment. * Purchase equipment including cameras, tripods, audio equipment, lights and consumable supplies for courses and the lab itself. * Regularly inspect all equipment to determine if any repairs are required, coordinate shipping of all equipment needing repairs and follow-up with vendors regarding equipment warranties. * Monitors equipment usage schedule. * Meet regularly with Manager of Technology and TV Studio Manager to review any future equipment requests from faculty or staff and ensure all technological processes are running smoothly. * Coordinate annual equipment replacement proposal for the School of Communication and work with Business Manager to purchase approved equipment. * Assists in studio productions. * Assist Manager of Technology with various projects as needed. * Responsible for updating and maintaining content daily on three separate websites: the LUC SoC site, the Center for Digital Ethics site, and the SoC Career and Internship site. * Performs other duties as required. Minimum Education and/or Work Experience Bachelor's degree in related field and three years of related television production experience is preferred. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in related field. * Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. * Demonstrated project management and team management skills. * Must be proficient with all aspects of television and video technology, including HD, digital, streaming, editing, cameras, lights, computers, switchers, audio boards, etc. * Must keep abreast of developing technologies. * Knowledge of broadcast rules, regulations and guidelines, and production and technical standards. * Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate activities productively with functions and units outside his/her own sphere of control. * Self motivated with the ability to drive results and multitask in a collaborative organization. * Superior abilities for operational and strategic planning a must. * High ethical standards and integrity required. * Preference given to those with advanced degrees and to those with experience working with students and faculty.
