POSITION PROFILE

The Cloud Systems Architect is responsible for partnering with internal stakeholders and providing strategic, technical leadership, ensuring that all cloud solutions and architecture adhere to industry best-practices for scalability, maintainability, usability, performance, security, and portability. This role also designs, deploys and oversees the implementation and integration of systems for cloud-based infrastructure and has responsibility for relationship management for cloud vendors, including monitoring SLA's and tracking performance, troubleshooting and reporting.

MANAGEMENT BY OBJECTIVES (MBO'S)

  • Design Cloud Computing platforms in a complex enterprise and manufacturing environment

  • Develop a unified architecture, using industry best practice reference architectures, for native and non-native cloud applications for enterprise and manufacturing domains

  • Support for the Cloud conversion of existing IT and software architecture (data (storage, distribution), processing, transactions, caching, workflows, access control, etc.).

  • Support for re-engineering existing on-premise applications for the Cloud Computing paradigm

  • Maximize the investment on all IT assets to ensure the best use of tools, services, and equipment

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Decompose business requirements and strategies into well-defined architecture guidance for software development and infrastructure teams

  • Creation of architecture documents including business context diagrams, conceptual, logical, and physical architectures.

  • Work with IT and business units to create investable and executable technical roadmaps

  • Work with business stakeholders and gain support for critical technology investment decisions

  • Act as a key advisor to senior IT and business leadership

  • Scope and size technology investments

  • Evaluate technologies, vendor solutions, and applications

  • Develop and support architecture best practices across Knoll in support of the enterprise-wide technology strategies

Required Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in system design, implementation and scalability for enterprise systems and web infrastructure. Extensive experience in Microsoft and/or Linux development stack required, including strong SQL and/or Oracle experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in defining solution architecture for cloud-based systems, including experience with Oracle Cloud and Amazon Web Services. Experience with other cloud solutions a plus

  • Extensive technical and architectural leadership experience in the design and development of distributed object orientated solutions on multiple platforms and integrating with multiple systems, 3rd party services, etc.

  • Prior experience architecting and migrating existing on premise applications to cloud infrastructure.

  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment of web-based solutions in a cloud-based environment.

  • Must have strong communications, analytical, logic, organizational and team skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology related field.

  • In lieu of the Bachelor's degree, an Associate's degree in a Computer Science or technology-related field combined with two years of additional related experience may be considered.

Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Cloud Technology Professional, Microsoft MCSE Cloud Platform and Infrastructure certifications are a plus

To learn more, visit www.knoll.com POSITION PROFILE This is a 2nd shift position (hours are 1:45pm - 9:45pm) The Systems Assembler in Metal Operations 2nd shift works in multiple areas of the department on a rotation.
