Department: IT UUHSC - 413

Primary Purpose:

Plan, design, implement, maintain, and provide ongoing optimization and support for LIS software and related enterprise clinical applications. Validate, document, perform workflow assessments and impact analysis, capture business needs and analyze internal systems to determine requirements for optimal utilization of applications.

Possess clinical and application knowledge and experience. Work within cross-functional teams and with end users to meet clinical needs. Conduct tasks and assignments as directed, with moderate instruction and guidance from senior team members, team leads and direct supervisor.

Essential Functions:

Execute build in the LIS, and related enterprise clinical applications while ensuring quality outcomes

Participate in upgrades and /system enhancement efforts

Support applications throughout implementation

Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve support issues.

Communicate with ARUP workforce and vendor entities in problem resolution.

Create, execute, and maintain test scripts and supporting documentation

Prepare and maintain QA and support documentation as assigned

Adhere to department and corporate, policies, and procedures

Attend laboratory staff department meetings as an IT liaison

Provide LIS best practice guidance

Develop expertise and proficiency in assigned applications

Conduct tasks and assignments as directed

Other duties as assigned

Physical and Other Requirements:

Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.

Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.

ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.

Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance.

Continuing Education: Continual assessment of current literature and best practices.
