The IT Client Engineering Manager is accountable for the design, implementation, stability and continuous improvement of end user technologies, including end user mobile and desktop operating systems and hardware, virtual and physical desktop environments, collaboration and communication services, and various standard peripherals and print solutions. The manager is responsible for staying current on rapidly changing technologies, as well as managing, mentoring and developing talent within the group.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the IT Client Engineering team members responsible for high-level support and engineering activities for end-user computing services, including, but not limited to, mobile and desktop operating systems (OS) and hardware, virtual and physical desktop environments, desktop applications, communication services, collaboration equipment and other standard peripherals and print solutions.

  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with executives, business partners, desktops support, information security and individual team members regarding the IT Client Engineering solution roadmap and upcoming changes in the environment.

  • Accountable for the planning and execution of IT Client Engineering projects.

  • Manage the conference room technology, audio and visual capabilities, and collaboration services.

  • Collaborate with other teams to transition services into the production operating environment with proper operational support, documentation and training.

  • Develop how-to documentation, training material and FAQ lists for customers and co-workers and provide a weekly status report for current projects.

  • Gather and analyze requirements from relevant teams to provide an optimized desktop, VDI and

  • mobile solution to ensure a positive end user experience

  • Responsible for hardware standards, system images, desktop and application virtualization, audio/video conference room technology, system patching, anti-virus/spyware, application packaging and system management tool.

  • Research and test new technology, hardware and software and recommend and help implement new technology while conducting RFPs as needed.

  • Assists in the preparation and management of department budgets and business plans.

  • Participate in the Manager On-Call rotation; duties include being available 24x7 to respond to emails and phone calls during on call period via mobile device.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or similar discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum 4 to 6 years' experience leading multi-disciplinary teams

  • Experience in engineering technical end user technology, including desktop and mobile OS

  • hardware, environments, applications, communication, collaboration and virtualization.

  • Working knowledge of effective vendor management.

  • In-depth knowledge of end user technology, including trends and industry best practices, and project management techniques.

  • Strong engineering and project management skills, including the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

  • Strong planning, organizational and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated experience effectively collaborating with other functions (e.g. executives, facilities, public relations, creative services and external partners).

  • Experience with Broadcast or Media is preferred.
