POSITION: IT Business Systems Analyst
DEPARTMENT: Information Systems
POSITION SUMMARY:
The IT Business Systems Analyst acts as the liaison between information systems/information technology (IS/IT) and other Upper Peninsula Health Plan (UPHP) departments; serves as a project manager for cross departmental projects and application implementations; facilitates meetings and documentation regarding current and future company systems and business processes; and provides technical support for external vendor software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Follows established Upper Peninsula Health Plan (UPHP) policies and procedures, objectives, safety standards, and sensitivity to confidential information.
2.Acts as a liaison between IS/IT and other UPHP departments by fostering a collaborative relationship while working towards company goals and department initiatives.
3.Acts as a project manager for internal business processes and large application implementations, managing timelines and conducting regular status updates to the project team; prepares IT Governance Committee documentation and participates in committee meetings.
4.Facilitates meetings and communications with various stakeholders at different levels of the organization to assess business needs, gather requirements, and help understand and improve workflow processes.
5.Develops and follows standard project templates; conducts preliminary investigation for assigned project requests; documents requirements, specifications, and test support and training plans to ensure they are in line with business objectives on projects.
6.Consults with UPHP departments to meet Medicare, Medicaid, and MI Health Link contractual requirements and processes (e.g., enrollment, coordination of benefits, risk adjustment, program audit requirements). Reviews and monitors state and federal guidance changes for impact to the IS/IT department.
7.Maintains ongoing technical support and project management oversight for external vendor software applications and internally developed tools as needed.
8.Attends company and department meetings; serves on committees and participates in workgroups as required.
9.Maintains confidentiality of client data.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Minimum:
Bachelor's degree in business, computer information systems, or computer science; five (5) years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree will be considered
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in appropriate science plus Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification
Experience:
Minimum:
One (1) to three (3) years of experience in information systems or technology-related environment
Preferred:
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in information systems or technology-related environment; project management experience
