IT BUSINESS ANALYST SENIOR
This position is responsible for understanding stakeholder needs and the business issues to be addressed and driving the successful solution. Coordinate with the project manager and business owners for project intake (ideation and inception), maintain relationships with the business and drive standard business processes across the enterprise.
Collaborate with project, IT, and business management to ensure business objectives are achieved. Possess strong system analytic skills in addition to technical acumen, but also have the ability and experience to be assigned to more complex projects. Apply knowledge of industry practices to business solutions and apply BA best practices to analytic methods used, while coaching and mentoring others.
May assist BAs in standard audit process. You are a member of a team where you will participate in a variety of roles. These roles will be determined based on work initiatives and IT leader direction.
Primary liaison with Project Sponsors, Owners, Team Members, Vendors and Subject Matter Experts to understand the business problem that needs to be solved. Gather, document, and confirm business requirements and quickly help drive a course of action.
Analyze and decompose complex business requirements into functional and non-functional requirements. Fulfill the role of subject matter expert in functional requirement elicitation. Quickly understand the business issues and challenges.
Generate interdepartmental relationships and be able to call on those relationships to help solve business issues and elicit input for solutions.
Create User Stories and develop Acceptance Criteria when using Agile methodology.
Lead small projects as well as act as a Scrum Master or Product Owner for an Agile project.
Coordinate Requirements and User Stories with the QA Analyst.
Initiate and facilitate communication and meetings with business and IT stakeholders. Facilitate interactions with all team members.
Develop use cases as a key communication tool between the business and technical teams. Document current & future state assessments. Perform gap analysis and any other documentation that will assist in the understanding of the business need.
Develop expert knowledge in more than one of the main business systems that Ucare relies on. Develop expertise in a health care insurance subject area and be able to apply that knowledge to business problems
Use and promote defined Ucare Business Analysts standards, documentation, software tools, and best practices to achieve business needs. The Senior Business Analyst should be proactive in defining and to help create BA standards, as well as upgrading existing ones.
Act as a mentor for other BA's, or members of your team. Generously pass on knowledge and experience that will help team.
Seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen relationships.

Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science, Business or related discipline preferred. An advanced degree in Business or Computer Science, or additional training and/or certifications. Demonstrated work experience may be considered in lieu degree.
Eight years of experience as an IT Business Analyst/ Business Systems Analyst or Functional Analyst. Knowledge of all phases of software development life cycle.
A demonstrable track record of successful requirements documentation. Some project management experience. Have expert knowledge in one, or more, of UCare's business systems.
Have experience in running SQL queries and a complete understanding of database architecture concepts. Have broad IT systems knowledge.
Experience in health care or managed care. Experience with Project Lifecycles.
Experience in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Project Management, Agile Product Owner, or Agile Scrum Master experience. Application vendor relationship experience.
