Position Summary:

The IT Business Analyst is responsible for mapping and analyzing the company's capabilities and processes, ensuring alignment between IT solutions and business workflows. You will identify opportunities for improvement, guide process enhancement, and advocate for IT initiatives that align with business needs. Additionally, you will prepare the business for change, support transitions, and ensure that changes are effectively integrated and sustained.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Process Mapping and Analysis

  • Utilize story mapping techniques to document and analyze current business processes and workflows.

  • Identify gaps and areas for improvement in business processes and IT solutions.

  • Solution Alignment

  • Ensure IT services and solutions are aligned with business processes and requirements.

  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to design and implement solutions that support business workflows.

  • Change Management and Planning

  • Develop and implement change management strategies using frameworks such as ADKAR, Kotter's 8-Step Process, or ITIL.

  • Prepare the business for change by assessing impact, engaging stakeholders, and creating comprehensive change plans.

  • Opportunity Identification

  • Identify opportunities for enhancing both business processes and IT capabilities.

  • Provide recommendations for process improvements and technology enhancements.

  • Guidance and Recommendations

  • Guide business stakeholders in improving their processes through detailed analysis and recommendations.

  • Advocate for IT solutions that align with business needs and enhance operational efficiency.

  • Project Management Support

  • Assist in planning, executing, and monitoring IT projects to ensure timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.

  • Support project managers with documentation, requirements gathering, and stakeholder communication.

  • Training and Support

  • Develop training materials and provide support to employees to help them adapt to changes and new processes.

  • Ensure that all users understand and can effectively use new systems and processes.

  • Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Monitor the progress of change and improvement initiatives, evaluating their effectiveness and impact.

  • Collect feedback and make necessary adjustments to enhance outcomes.

  • Risk and Compliance Management

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with process changes and improvements.

  • Ensure that all changes comply with relevant regulations and security standards.

  • Continuous Improvement

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by regularly assessing and refining business processes.

  • Provide ongoing support to sustain changes and drive long-term organizational success.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Proven experience in business process improvement, change management, and/or business analysis.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies.

  • Familiarity with change management frameworks such as ADKAR, Kotter's 8-Step Process, or ITIL.

  • Ability to demonstrate practical knowledge and successful application of business process improvement and change management techniques.

Education Requirements:

  • Certifications in relevant areas (e.g., CBAP, PMP, Six Sigma, ITIL) are a plus but not required.

  • Experience with project management and agile methodologies.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods.

  • Ability to use a computer for extended periods.

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

  • Must be able to lift and move items up to 20 pounds occasionally.

  • Ability to move around and stand for extended periods during story mapping sessions.
