Position: IT Build Engineer | Division: Information Technology
Work Days: Mon - Fri | Work Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Purpose of the Position:
This role is responsible for delivering new infrastructure solutions to the organization. In addition, the role will involve some elements of third level infrastructure support in the event level 1 and 2 cannot address issue(s). Role will work on varying up-to-date technologies while working to a structured build and deployment process. This technical position requires initiative with problem solving skills.
Work with the Design and Project manager teams to plan complex IT infrastructure deployments
Planning infrastructure designs for configuration and deployment
Testing configured solutions
Proactive identification of automation for maintenance
Documenting infrastructure support activities to hand over to level 1 and 2 teams
Provide technical infrastructure support in the event of major incidents to the organization.
Competencies and Skills:
Proven experience performing systems build engineering with enterprise systems
Experience with SAN storage technologies
Some familiarity with voice communications and unified communications technology
Strong knowledge of server virtualization technologies
Experience with Microsoft Windows server and web technologies
Strong analytical troubleshooting skills.
Strong understanding of SSL, Internet (SMTP, DHCP, DNS) and other networking protocols.
Experience with level 3 administration for Windows server clusters and replication.
Experience with deploying, troubleshooting, and supporting multi-tier applications.
Excellent communication and follow-up skills, paying strong attention to detail.
Professional and responsible attitude with the ability to work with a team.
Proven experience working within SLA's and an ITIL v3 framework.
Work Experience Requirements:
3+ years in build engineering activities for infrastructure and voice technologies
3+ years experience with software use and installation, including desktop/server operating systems, network operating systems, and performing critical systems backups and Microsoft technologies
Hands on experience providing level 3 Troubleshooting and debugging support
Demonstrated ability to positively interact with various employees
Some travel required
May need to be available nights and weekends
