Lyft is looking for an Audio Visual Engineer to support our conference rooms and event spaces at all of our offices nationally. You will work closely with our internal IT team, business partners and 3rd party vendors, to support all aspects of Audio Visual engineering at Lyft. This position will also be responsible for the successful planning, production, and execution of Events in our live presentations spaces.


  • Work with stakeholders, the Audio Visual Design team, and vendors to set-up, tune, configure, and test audio visual systems at Lyft

  • Create documentation for support and configuration of Audio Visual systems

  • Provide support of Audio Visual systems across Lyft offices worldwide

  • Validate installation work to ensure it meets Lyft Standards

  • Work with event stakeholders to ensure exact technology requirements for events. This includes consultation sessions to acquaint new users with the space

  • Support the Event Production team in planning, logistics and execution for large scale events and meetings

  • Perform sign off and handover duties between Lyft and 3rd party Audio Visual Providers

  • Work with the Audio Visual design team providing feedback on current system designs and help new designs meet the growing needs of Lyft

  • Work with A/V production equipment (Yamaha Audio Mixers, Panasonic and Black Magic video mixers and LiveU video streaming and Ustream CDN)

  • Maintain, deploy and manage Lyft's fleet of mobile presentation systems

  • Contribute to the growth of the organization by flagging potential operational issues and escalating them through the proper channels


  • 5 years relevant experience in corporate live events, conference center operation, or hotel Audio/Visual

  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast paced high-growth environment

  • Knowledge of event production and conferencing technology (Yamaha, Blackmagic ATEM, Panasonic, Ustream, Crestron, Symmetrix, Biamp, Dante, Chromebox for Meetings etc)

  • Working knowledge of presentation software and simple media editing software (Keynote, Powerpoint, Slides, Photoshop, iMovie etc..)

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology. Key Job Responsibilities Equipment Operation * Ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section. Customer Service * Strives to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers. * Maintains a positive relationship with all clients through effective communication. * Meets with guests on site to ensure that their needs are met and the equipment setup is working properly. * Monitors events and checks in on customers throughout the day. * Understands and fosters the hotel/client relationship. Technical Ability * Understands the technical aspects of the job and demonstrates basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues. * Handles equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner. Systems Knowledge * Understands company processes, follows procedures and completes systems entry and paperwork accurately. * Uses the equipment sheets to determine the equipment scheduled for set up and for strike. Interacts with other staff and outside vendors for equipment. * Increases revenue by utilizing floor up-selling techniques. * Works with clients to finalize invoices. * Completes order entries in Navigator, as needed. Job Qualifications * High School Diploma required. Associate's degree is preferred. * Achieve Technical Level 3 Certification per PSAV Technical Skillset Matrix within 180 days (Technical Skill Set Matrix or @PSAV/HR/Global Learning). * 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred. * 1 year of audio visual experience or equivalent in educational environment is preferred. * A valid driver's license is required for team members that may operate Company vehicles. * Additional DOT requirement may need to be met if applicable.
