SUMMARY: The IT Asset Manager is responsible for the daily and long-term strategic management of software and technology-related hardware within the organization.

The IT Asset Manager is responsible for the daily and long-term strategic management of software and technology-related hardware within the organization. This includes planning, monitoring, and recording software license and/or hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts. The individual will assist in forming procurement strategies to optimize technology spend across the organization. The IT Asset Manager will also develop and implement procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles.

  • Develop and implement Asset Management processes for Hardware and software assets within the data center and end-user space.

  • Manage leased assets

  • Analyze client contracts, Purchase agreements and other data to manage hardware assets effectively,

  • Experience in all processes including but not limited to New Assets, IMACS, Retirements, Disposals

  • Experience in managing software assets including license compliance for enterprise level customers

  • Interact directly with clients and other internal and external sources to obtain relevant data and documents in required forms and consistent with project objectives and deadlines

  • Utilize Data analysis tools and techniques like MS Access, MS Excel

  • Assess data accuracy and reasonableness and follow-up directly with clients appropriately to achieve necessary understanding and to resolve the Licensing anomalies

  • Ensure quality and timely delivery of customer requirements

  • Generate monthly reports regarding this Service

  • Identify and document best practices and implement them


  • Experience leading asset management within IT

  • Direct experience in a contract management or purchasing and procurement capacity, including all aspects of strategy development and execution

  • Ability to facilitate, implement, troubleshoot, problem solve and enhance the IT team's support, systems and operational responsibilities by building strong vendor relationship

  • Communication: patience, tenacity and follow-through in tracking, troubleshooting and bringing to resolution any issues related to asset management

  • Strong task management skills: ability to prioritize, triage, resolve and escalate in an efficient and effective manner

  • This position comes in contact with executive management, vendors, etc. Diplomacy, tact, and a helpful, positive, professional presentation and attitude are required

  • Extensive experience in contract negotiations

  • Strong familiarity and technical competence with asset management software and/or inventory-tracking systems
