JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a versatile Software Engineer who excels in full-stack development and is enthusiastic about tackling challenges across various technology domains. In this role, you will play a key part in developing robust web applications using technologies such as .NET 7+/ASP.NET Core, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Bootstrap, Web Components/Lit Element and more. Moreover, you will have the exciting opportunity to explore the world of GIS/ArcGIS mapping applications and engage in mobile application development using .NET MAUI/Flutter, among other possibilities.

JOB DUTIES:

• Create computer programs using tools like .NET 7+/ASP.NET Core, HTML/CSS/JavaScript/Bootstrap, Web Components/Lit Element, and more.

• Join projects that use GIS/ArcGIS maps to show data in special ways based on location, solving interesting location-based problems.

• Get into making mobile apps using .NET MAUI/Flutter, providing smooth and enjoyable experiences for users on different devices.

• Work together with different teams to find and solve tricky software problems.

• Take part in the whole process of making software, from understanding what's needed, designing, coding, testing, to getting it ready to use.

• Fix any issues in the software and make sure it works well.

• Help users and clients with technical support when they have questions or need assistance.

• Position is located on-site at the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission Headquarters in Lincoln.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering or other related field and two years of experience, education, or training in coding computer applications; programming experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis.

PREFERRED QULAIFICATIONS:

• Actively developing web applications, with expertise in either ASP.NET Core MVC or Java Web application using Java EE/Jakarta EE within the last three years. (Required)

• Actively using technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX within the last three years (Required)

• Actively using SQL databases and writing SQL queries within the last three years (Required)

• Able to work as a full-stack developer with minimal guidance from leadership. (Required)

• If you've ever tried creating GIS/ArcGIS applications or mobile apps, that's even better.

• If you're familiar with making mobile apps, that's a plus too.

• If you're familiar with making SPA web applications, that's a plus too.

• Ready to learn about new things like GIS/ArcGIS, .NET MAUI/Flutter, Web Components, and more.

• Logical thinker and good at solving problems.

• Know how to manage your tasks even when things get busy.
